It’s important first to understand the meaning of the word plain.
A plain is a broad, flat, and open stretch of land. Therefore, the Plain of Dura simply refers to the open area of Dura.
This place was located in Babylon, and it was the very spot that King Nebuchadnezzar chose to set up his massive image of gold the one he commanded all people of the world to bow down and worship. The Plain of Dura was ideal for this purpose because it was spacious and allowed the statue to be clearly seen by the great multitude gathered there.
Daniel 3:1–2
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
2 He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.
But have you ever wondered what that image represents in these last days?
Do you realize that the mark of the beast will come in a similar way?
