YOU HAVE EVERY REASON TO THANK GOD

Blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

If you are alive, then you have every reason to thank God. Even if you do not have ten shillings in your pocket, you still have every reason to thank Him.

Because at this very moment as we speak—while you may only have a headache—someone else is in the ICU, unconscious, and another is hospitalized with severe illness. And perhaps while you lie in bed reflecting on the problems you are going through, somewhere else another person is at the point of breathing their last.

While you may not have eaten since morning, someone else has not eaten at all since yesterday. While you have parents and relatives, another person has no one—they are completely alone.

While your eyes trouble you and you wear glasses, another person has no sight at all. While you walk with a limp, someone else has never even had legs.

While you may not have money or possessions, you still have the freedom to wake up in the morning and go wherever you wish. Others right now are imprisoned for many years without the freedom you enjoy. They long to have that freedom even for a single day—but they do not have it.

While your day has gone well today, at this very minute others are in mourning. They woke up to news of death and are burying their loved ones—people precious and important to them. It is not that they angered God and therefore these things happened. No! Some of them are very precious servants before Him, yet they are sick, imprisoned, isolated, or even without food. But you are not facing hardships as heavy as theirs. Think twice! Thank God, and do not be a person who constantly complains.

The very act of finishing the day alive is already a great miracle. Therefore, in whatever condition you are in, as long as you have life, thank God. Never compare yourself to the one who has more; instead, compare yourself to the one who has less—then you will always have every reason to thank God.

Thank God by singing to Him, praising Him, and giving to Him. When you do this, you show honor to God and acknowledge His presence in your life. It is also God’s will that we give thanks to Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:17–18
“Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Colossians 3:15
“…And be thankful.”

In these last days, hold firmly to your faith. Never allow the troubles of this world to discourage you. The end is very near.
