They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.\u201d<\/b> The apostle <\/span>Jude<\/b>, the brother of James and a servant of Jesus Christ, wrote this letter to warn believers about the infiltration of ungodly people into the Church\u2014individuals who distort the grace of God and deny the Lord Jesus (Jude 1:4). In verses 12\u201313, Jude uses strong metaphors to describe the nature and danger of these individuals. One of the most striking images he uses is that they are <\/span>\u201cdangerous reefs at your love feasts.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n These kinds of reefs are especially dangerous because they are invisible to the eye but deadly to any vessel that sails too close. Likewise, these people are spiritually harmful: they <\/span>appear to be part of the community<\/b>, they <\/span>participate in worship<\/b>, and they <\/span>fellowship without fear<\/b>, yet their presence threatens to <\/span>shipwreck the faith<\/b> of others (1 Timothy 1:19).<\/span><\/p>\n Just as hidden reefs can tear apart ships, <\/span>false teachers<\/b> and <\/span>self-serving leaders<\/b> can destroy the spiritual lives of those around them. At the Last Supper, no one suspected him\u2014only Jesus knew his true identity (John 13:21\u201327).<\/span><\/p>\n This is a <\/span>wake-up call to the Church<\/b>. These \u201cdangerous reefs\u201d exist today\u2014people who outwardly serve in ministry, preach in Jesus\u2019 name, and lead churches but do not truly follow Christ. Some are motivated by greed, power, or even demonic influence.<\/span><\/p>\n Their impact is devastating. They:<\/span><\/p>\n The only way to avoid spiritual disaster is to be <\/span>rooted in the Word of God<\/b> and walk in discernment through the <\/span>Holy Spirit<\/b>.
