A Personal Reflection<\/h3>\n

I once experienced deep frustration toward someone who offended me. I didn\u2019t shout or confront them directly, but I let my emotions show. Later, while venting to someone else, I referred to the person as “very foolish” and explained what they had done to me.<\/p>\n

At first, I felt justified in how I expressed my anger. But later, I began to feel convicted and uneasy in my spirit. I knew something was off. So I prayed, asking God to reveal the root of the issue.<\/p>\n

When I opened my Bible, the first verse I read was Matthew 5:22. It was as if God was directly confronting my heart. I had read the verse before but never truly grasped its meaning\u2014especially the word “Raca.”<\/p>\n

The Meaning of \u201cRaca\u201d<\/h3>\n

The term \u201cRaca\u201d<\/strong> comes from the Aramaic<\/strong> language and was used as an insult meaning \u201cempty-headed\u201d or \u201cworthless.\u201d According to Bible dictionaries and scholarly sources, it\u2019s equivalent to calling someone “brainless,” “idiot,” or “good-for-nothing.”<\/p>\n

In modern language, words like \u201cstupid,\u201d \u201cfool,\u201d \u201cdumb,\u201d and \u201closer\u201d carry similar weight. Though they might seem minor or harmless in casual conversation, Jesus warns that such words carry serious moral and spiritual consequences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Words reveal what\u2019s truly in our hearts. Jesus made it clear that using contemptuous language\u2014especially toward fellow believers\u2014is spiritually dangerous<\/strong> and worthy of judgment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
