Greetings to you in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I welcome you to learn with me today about the words of life.<\/p>\n
In these perilous times, filled with deception and false teachings, it is essential for us to examine ourselves closely. Ask yourself: What kind of spirit have you allowed into your life? The way you live and behave reflects the spirit within you. If your life is driven by worldly desires, then the spirit of the world is influencing you.<\/p>\n
1 Corinthians 2:12 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n \n“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n If your actions are sinful\u2014if you struggle with things like theft or dishonesty\u2014know that these are the results of a spirit working in you. It\u2019s important to examine the nature of the spirit that influences your life.<\/p>\n The Bible speaks of Daniel as a man who had an excellent spirit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Daniel 6:3 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n \n“Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n What does it mean to have an “excellent spirit”? This spirit is not just ordinary\u2014Daniel\u2019s spirit was outstanding<\/strong> and beyond the usual standard<\/strong>. The term \u201cexcellent\u201d implies superiority\u2014there are spirits that are not excellent, and in many cases, they are counterfeit spirits<\/strong>. Satan is crafty and deceives people into thinking they have the Holy Spirit when in reality, it is a fake spirit that mimics the original.<\/p>\n Daniel 5:12 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n \n“This man Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Daniel\u2019s spirit was exceptional<\/strong>, filled with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom<\/strong> that were beyond natural ability. The Holy Spirit\u2014whom we receive as believers\u2014manifests in us in similar ways, empowering us to live in accordance with God\u2019s will. The evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit is not just speaking in tongues or prophesying; it\u2019s a transformed life marked by holiness, wisdom, and the ability to discern and live out God’s truth.<\/p>\n Daniel 6:4 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n \n“At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Daniel\u2019s life is a powerful example of integrity. Despite constant scrutiny and attempts to find fault in him, no one could accuse him of wrongdoing. His commitment to God and His standards made him blameless in the eyes of the people. This is what having an excellent spirit<\/strong> looks like\u2014a life of integrity, purity, and unwavering devotion to God\u2019s ways.<\/p>\n If you claim to be saved, this excellent spirit<\/strong> should be the same spirit that resides in you. The first evidence of the Holy Spirit’s presence in a believer\u2019s life is holiness<\/strong>\u2014the pursuit of living a life that reflects God\u2019s character.<\/p>\n But why is it that many believers speak in tongues, prophesy, and participate in religious activities, yet there is no evidence of the excellence<\/strong> of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives? It is shocking to hear people claim that living a holy life is impossible, especially when the Word of God makes it clear that holiness is achievable by the power of the Holy Spirit. Yet, some of these same people continue to live worldly lives\u2014compromising in areas like their dress, speech, and behavior, while still claiming to be Christians.<\/p>\n Is this truly the Holy Spirit<\/strong> at work? Or has the spirit within them been corrupted<\/strong>?<\/p>\n The good news is that the excellent spirit<\/strong>\u2014the Holy Spirit\u2014can always be called upon to return or be awakened in your life. Repentance<\/strong> and faith<\/strong> are the keys to experiencing transformation. You must believe that it is possible to live a holy life and surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit in you.<\/p>\n Romans 8:13 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n \n“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n You must be willing to turn away from the world<\/strong> and commit yourself to living a life pleasing to God. This requires believing that holiness is not only possible but is expected from every believer. Through the Holy Spirit, you can live a victorious life over sin and be empowered to reflect Christ in all you do.<\/p>\n When you are fully surrendered to God, He will guide you and transform your life, enabling you to live in righteousness.
