“The toil of fools wearies them; they do not know the way to town.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This short verse might sound humorous at first\u2014but it\u2019s actually a deep reflection on life, effort, and purpose. The Bible is saying that a fool works hard but without direction. They are exhausted by their own efforts because they don\u2019t even know how to reach their goal. It\u2019s like working for years to reach the city, only to realize you\u2019ve been walking in the opposite direction the whole time.<\/p>\n

In a practical sense, many people spend their lives pursuing success, wealth, or comfort. There’s nothing wrong with work or ambition\u2014Proverbs commends diligence<\/p>\n

“The desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”<\/em>).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But Ecclesiastes warns that if your life lacks wisdom and purpose, your work becomes tiring and meaningless. <\/span>It\u2019s not just about working hard; it\u2019s about knowing where you\u2019re going.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Spiritual Revelation Behind the Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n

This verse also has a profound spiritual message. For believers, \u201cthe city\u201d symbolizes our eternal destination\u2014the New Jerusalem.<\/strong> It\u2019s the place prepared for us by God, described beautifully in Revelation.<\/p>\n

Revelation 21:2-3\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n“I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God… And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, \u2018Look! God\u2019s dwelling place is now among the people…'”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just like in the natural, working without knowing your spiritual destination is exhausting. Many live their lives full of religious activity, generosity, even morality\u2014but still lack a relationship with Christ. They\u2019re walking, but not toward the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Without Jesus, our efforts, good deeds, or even spiritual practices are like heading toward a city we can\u2019t find on our own. This is why salvation through faith in Christ is essential. He doesn\u2019t just show us the way\u2014He is the Way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

W<\/strong>ho Will Enter This City?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revelation 22:14-15\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral…”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This tells us clearly: entry into the city is only for those who have been washed\u2014cleansed through the righteousness of Christ.<\/strong> It’s not about how hard you\u2019ve worked, but whether your name is written in the Lamb\u2019s book of life (Revelation 21:27).<\/p>\n

Faith Like Abraham\u2019s: A Heavenly Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abraham, the father of faith, understood this. He didn\u2019t live for this world alone.<\/p>\n

Hebrews 11:10\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n“For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Though he was wealthy and blessed, he lived like a pilgrim\u2014because he knew his true home was with God.<\/p>\n

Conclusion: Know the Way and Follow It<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t know Christ, you are like the fool in Ecclesiastes 10:15\u2014tired, busy, and directionless. Your effort may look impressive on the outside, but it leads nowhere spiritually. But if you follow Christ, your work gains eternal meaning.<\/p>\n

With Jesus, your life has purpose.<\/strong> You\u2019re walking toward a real destination. Every sacrifice, every act of love, every struggle becomes an investment in eternity.<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 4:17\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So the question remains:<\/p>\n

Do you know the way to the city?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus is calling. Follow Him\u2014and you\u2019ll never labor in vain.<\/p>\n
