You might help others, give generously, offer your time and resources\u2014and still feel overlooked, unappreciated, or even used. Yet Scripture reminds us that our labor in the Lord is never in vain.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Doing Good is Often Costly\u2014and That\u2019s the Point<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>True goodness often involves sacrifice. Biblical \u201cgood\u201d isn\u2019t just being nice; it\u2019s self-giving love that mirrors God\u2019s heart. When you give without expecting anything in return, you are practicing <em>agape<\/em>\u2014the unconditional love described in 1 Corinthians 13.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of this kind of goodness include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Helping the vulnerable<\/strong>, like orphans and the poor (James 1:27).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sacrificing your own comfort<\/strong> to uplift others (Philippians 2:3\u20134).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Teaching, mentoring, or giving<\/strong> to those who cannot repay you (Luke 14:12\u201314).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sharing the Gospel<\/strong> without expecting praise or reward (Matthew 10:8).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These acts reflect God\u2019s heart. Jesus Himself said,<br \/>\n<strong>\u201c&#8230;whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 <em>Matthew 25:40 (NIV)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>You May Grow Weary\u2014but Stay the Course<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>God understands that doing good can be tiring. That\u2019s why we\u2019re reminded again and again not to give up.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cLet us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2014 <em>Galatians 6:9 (NIV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Apostle Paul knew firsthand the hardships of serving others. Yet he taught that perseverance in doing good reflects genuine faith (Romans 2:6\u20137). Every act of goodness is a seed. It may take time, but it will bear fruit.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A Real-Life Example: Mordecai\u2019s Story (Esther 6)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mordecai once saved King Xerxes by exposing an assassination plot, but he received no immediate reward. Time passed\u2014he was forgotten. But at a crucial moment, the king couldn\u2019t sleep and ordered the royal records to be read. That night, he rediscovered Mordecai\u2019s deed and chose to honor him publicly.<\/p>\n<p>This story reveals a deeper spiritual truth:<br \/>\nGod does not forget the faithful acts of His people. Even when it seems like nothing is happening, God is working behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cGod is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2014 <em>Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>The Eternal Perspective<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Paul writes in <strong>Romans 2:6\u201310 (NIV)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGod \u2018will repay each person according to what they have done.\u2019 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life&#8230; glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In God\u2019s economy, doing good is never wasted. It may not bring fame or riches in this life, but it stores up eternal reward.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus Himself said:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cStore up for yourselves treasures in heaven&#8230;\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 <em>Matthew 6:20 (NIV)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>So What Should You Do?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep doing good even when it&#8217;s hard.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage the weak in faith (Romans 15:1).<\/li>\n<li>Pray for others, especially those who struggle (James 5:16).<\/li>\n<li>Share the message of salvation (Romans 10:14\u201315).<\/li>\n<li>Be a light in dark places (Matthew 5:16).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ask yourself: <strong>What good am I doing for God\u2014not just for people, but for His glory?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Conclusion: God Sees, God Rewards<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Don\u2019t lose heart. Whether you&#8217;re planting seeds through kindness, generosity, or truth-telling, God sees\u2014and in His time, He will reward.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cTherefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
