If hearing about God’s judgment or the return of Christ makes you uncomfortable or angry, but messages about prosperity, blessings, and breakthroughs excite you\u2014this is a serious warning sign. It may mean you\u2019re more attracted to comfort than to truth, and the Bible warns us that this mindset is spiritually dangerous.<\/span><\/p>\n

Satan\u2019s Oldest Trick: Twisting the Truth<\/h3>\n

From the beginning, Satan\u2019s strategy has been to distort God\u2019s truth into something more appealing. In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve a clear warning:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.\u201d<\/strong>
\n\u2014Genesis 2:17\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But Satan contradicted God, offering a \u201csoft\u201d version of the truth:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou will not certainly die,\u201d<\/strong> the serpent said to the woman.
\n\u2014Genesis 3:4\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Eve believed this lie because it sounded better. It seemed hopeful. It sounded spiritual. But it was deadly. This is the root of what theologians call \u201ctheology of glory\u201d<\/em>\u2014an approach that focuses on blessings and triumph while ignoring sin, repentance, and the cross. True Christian theology includes both the goodness<\/em> and the severity<\/em> of God (Romans 11:22)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Soft Gospel in Today\u2019s Church<\/h3>\n

Today, many churches and preachers promote a gospel that avoids hard truths. Messages about sin, judgment, and hell are minimized or removed entirely. Instead, people hear only about divine favor, increase, and personal success\u2014even when they are living in disobedience. But Scripture clearly warns us:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the Lord\u2019s instruction. They say to the seers, \u2018See no more visions!\u2019 and to the prophets, \u2018Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.\u2019\u201d<\/strong>
\n\u2014Isaiah 30:9\u201310\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is what theologians describe as \u201cear-tickling\u201d preaching<\/strong>\u2014a distortion of the gospel that caters to human desires,<\/p>\n

(<\/strong>\u00a02<\/strong> Timothy<\/strong> 4:3\u20134)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.\u201d<\/strong>
\n\u20142 Timothy 4:3\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just as Satan deceived Eve, these preachers tell people they can continue in sin and still receive God\u2019s blessing. This is false and dangerous. The gospel includes both grace<\/em> and truth<\/em> (John 1:14)<\/strong>. Jesus forgave sinners, but He also said, \u201cGo and sin no more\u201d<\/em> (John 8:11<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

What Happened to Israel Still Happens Today<\/h3>\n

In the Old Testament, Israel repeatedly ignored God\u2019s true prophets and listened to false ones who only spoke of peace\u2014even when the people were living in rebellion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. \u2018Peace, peace,\u2019 they say, when there is no peace.\u201d<\/strong>
\n\u2014Jeremiah 6:14\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThe prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem and see visions of peace for her when there is no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.\u201d<\/strong>
\n\u2014Ezekiel 13:16\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Today, we see the same thing\u2014messages of \u201cpeace\u201d when there is no repentance.<\/p>\n

A Personal Warning: Time Is Short<\/h3>\n

As each year passes, we move closer to two unchangeable realities:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The return of Jesus Christ (The Rapture)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Your personal death<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201cPeople are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.\u201d<\/strong>
    \n\u2014Hebrews 9:27\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    No one knows the day or hour. Jesus said He would return at a time when life feels normal\u2014when people are eating, drinking, marrying, and celebrating.<\/p>\n

    \u201cIt was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.\u201d<\/strong>
    \n\u2014Luke 17:28\u201330\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    So I ask you: If Jesus returned tonight, would you be ready? If you died today, where would your soul go?<\/p>\n

    Don\u2019t let the day catch you off guard.<\/p>\n

    \u201cBe always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.\u201d<\/strong>
    \n\u2014Luke 21:36<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    What Should You Do?<\/h3>\n

    Repent. Don\u2019t carry the sins of this year into the next. Turn to Jesus Christ, who died for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life. Salvation is a free gift\u2014but it demands that we surrender our lives fully to Him.<\/p>\n

    \u201cIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.\u201d<\/strong>
    \n\u20141 John 1:9\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    If you\u2019re ready to receive God\u2019s forgiveness, say this prayer with sincerity:<\/p>\n

    A PRAYER OF REPENTANCE AND SALVATION<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    “Heavenly Father, I come before You today, fully aware that I am a sinner. I have done many things that dishonor You, and I deserve judgment. But You are a merciful God. You promised in Your Word that You forgive all who truly turn to You. Today, I repent of my sins. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my sins and rose again. I ask You to cleanse me with His blood. Make me a new creation from today and forever. I surrender my life to You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me and receiving me. Amen.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
