Luke 3:23 (NKJV)<\/strong>, “Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age…”<\/em> This is the starting point for understanding the timeline of His earthly ministry and, by extension, estimating His age at death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To estimate how long His ministry lasted, we can look at the Gospel of John<\/strong>, which records Jesus attending several Passover<\/strong> feasts annual Jewish festivals that allow us to track the years:<\/p>\n

First Passover<\/strong><\/p>\n

John 2:13 (NKJV):<\/em> “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Second Passover<\/strong><\/p>\n

John 6:4 (NKJV):<\/em> “Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Third Passover<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0John 11:55 (NKJV):<\/em> “And the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went from the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These feasts span about two years<\/strong>, but many scholars believe Jesus likely attended a fourth Passover<\/strong> that isn’t explicitly mentioned in the Gospel of John. This inference is drawn from the numerous miracles, teachings, and journeys recorded between the events. Therefore, most conservative biblical scholars estimate Jesus’ ministry lasted approximately 3 to 3\u00bd years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
