Rather, the structure we have today is the result of historical, theological, and literary decisions made by Jewish and early Christian communities. While the books themselves are divinely inspired (<em>2 Timothy 3:16, ESV<\/em>), the order is <strong>a human arrangement designed to aid comprehension and study<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There is <strong>no biblical mandate<\/strong> that Genesis must come before Exodus or that Romans must be the first of Paul\u2019s letters. It\u2019s divided into books of law, history, wisdom, prophecy, gospel, letters, and apocalyptic vision\u00a0 <strong>all pointing to Jesus Christ<\/strong>, the Word made flesh (<em>John 1:14<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Our <strong>Protestant Bible contains 66 inspired books<\/strong>.
