In <\/span>John 1:29<\/strong>, the Bible says:<\/span><\/p>\n

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This phrase\u2014“Lamb of God”<\/strong>\u2014is rich with theological meaning. It connects Jesus to the Old Testament sacrificial system, where lambs were offered as atonement for sin. In Exodus 12<\/strong>, during the first Passover, each Israelite family was instructed to sacrifice a spotless lamb and mark their doorposts with its blood. This act spared them from judgment. That lamb became a symbol of salvation through substitution\u2014an innocent life given to save others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jesus is the fulfillment of that symbol.<\/strong> He is the true Passover Lamb\u2014sinless and perfect\u2014offered once and for all to take away the sins of the world.<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 5:7b<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cFor Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Isaiah 53:7<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cHe was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter<\/strong>, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These passages emphasize both the gentleness and the submissiveness of Jesus. He did not resist the cross. He willingly offered Himself in silence, just as a lamb does not protest when being sacrificed.<\/p>\n

From a character perspective, a lamb is gentle, humble, and entirely dependent on its shepherd. This makes it different from other animals like goats or cattle. A lamb doesn\u2019t try to defend itself\u2014it trusts its shepherd completely.<\/p>\n

This is why Jesus is not compared to a mature ram, which might have aggressive tendencies. Instead, He is likened to a young lamb<\/strong>\u2014vulnerable, innocent, and obedient. His nature reflects divine humility and self-sacrificial love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jesus affirms this in His own words:<\/p>\n

Matthew 11:28\u201330<\/strong> \u2013
\n\u201cCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
\nTake my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart<\/strong>, and you will find rest for your souls.
\nFor my yoke is easy and my burden is light.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Again, in Matthew 21:5<\/strong>, His humility is described during His entry into Jerusalem:<\/p>\n

\u201cSay to Daughter Zion, \u2018See, your king comes to you, gentle<\/strong> and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Lamb of God is not only gentle\u2014He is also the Savior<\/strong>. He carried the punishment for our sins, offering reconciliation with God for anyone who believes in Him:<\/p>\n

Romans 5:8<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cBut God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hebrews 9:26b<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cBut he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Have You Responded to the Lamb\u2019s Call?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus, the Lamb of God, is speaking to you gently\u2014inviting you to repent, turn from sin, and receive eternal life. His voice isn’t loud or forceful. It\u2019s a whisper in your heart, filled with love and grace.<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t yet accepted His invitation, what\u2019s stopping you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today can be the day of your salvation. Believe in Jesus Christ. Be baptized in His name. Receive the Holy Spirit. Your sins will be forgiven, your heart renewed, and your name written in the Lamb\u2019s Book of Life<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Revelation 21:27<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cNothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb\u2019s book of life<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
