Praise be to the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As believers, we are called to grow in understanding of the Word of God, which is described in <\/span>Psalm 119:105 <\/em><\/strong>as,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Today, let\u2019s explore the gift of speaking in tongues\u2014a subject often misunderstood, but rich in spiritual value for those who receive it.<\/p>\n

1. Not All Believers Speak in Tongues\u2014and That\u2019s Okay<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Bible clearly teaches that not every Christian will speak in tongues. The Apostle Paul, addressing the church in Corinth, writes:<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 12:30<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This rhetorical question implies that spiritual gifts are distributed differently to each believer according to God\u2019s will (1 Corinthians 12:11<\/em>). Speaking in tongues is one of many spiritual gifts, not a universal requirement or sign of salvation.<\/p>\n

2. Speaking in Tongues is a Supernatural Prompting, Not a Human Choice<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Contrary to some assumptions, speaking in tongues is not something someone can initiate on their own. It is the result of the Holy Spirit\u2019s prompting, similar to receiving prophecy, dreams, or visions. These manifestations are not self-produced; they are sovereign acts of God.<\/p>\n

Acts 2:4<\/strong> describes the first instance of tongues: \u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This emphasizes that it is the Holy Spirit who gives utterance\u2014not the speaker deciding to speak.<\/p>\n

3. There Are Two Types of Tongues: Human and Angelic<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In 1<\/strong> Corinthians<\/strong> 13:1<\/strong><\/em>, Paul writes,<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This reveals that tongues may refer to known human languages or unknown heavenly languages.<\/p>\n
