{"id":47813,"date":"2022-10-29T21:19:30","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T18:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/?p=47813"},"modified":"2025-05-28T09:11:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T06:11:31","slug":"i-know-your-deeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/en\/2022\/10\/29\/i-know-your-deeds\/","title":{"rendered":"I KNOW YOUR DEEDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>(A Wake Up Call to the Church)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Throughout Scripture especially in Revelation Jesus repeatedly opens His messages to the churches with the chilling phrase:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cI know your deeds.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nLet\u2019s look at a few examples:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 2:2 (NIV)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 2:19 (NIV)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 3:1 (NIV)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 3:8 (NIV)<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>Why Does Jesus Begin This Way?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Jesus emphasizes His awareness of our actions to remind us that <strong>He sees all things nothing is hidden from Him.<\/strong><br \/>\nAs Hebrews 4:13 (NIV) says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNothing in all creation is hidden from God\u2019s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Many people live as though God is unaware of their private lives. But Scripture is clear: He sees the <strong>public and the private<\/strong>, the <strong>sincere and the deceptive<\/strong>, the <strong>holy and the sinful<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>To Pastors and Church Leaders<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You are called to shepherd the flock of God with integrity (1 Peter 5:2\u20133), yet some are living double lives preaching salvation on Sunday but engaging in immorality in secret.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWoe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!\u201d declares the Lord. <strong>Jeremiah 23:1 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cNot many of you should become teachers&#8230; because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.\u201d <strong>James 3:1 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you are involved in sin sexual immorality, deceit, or manipulation <strong>repent immediately.<\/strong> God is not mocked (Galatians 6:7). <strong>Jesus knows your deeds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>To Believers Living a Double Life<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You may say you&#8217;re saved, baptized, a worship leader, a church elder&#8230; but what happens in secret?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You watch pornography.<\/li>\n<li>You engage in fornication.<\/li>\n<li>You live in habitual sin yet lift up holy hands in worship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jesus warned about hypocritical worship:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c\u2018These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.\u2019\u201d <strong>Matthew 15:8 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBe sure that your sin will find you out.\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Numbers 32:23 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can fool your pastor, your friends, even your family but you cannot fool the Lord.<br \/>\n<strong>He knows your deeds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>To Spouses Living in Hidden Sin<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Marriage is a covenant before God. Adultery, secrecy, and lies <strong>break not just trust but violate God&#8217;s law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMarriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.\u201d <strong>Hebrews 13:4 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You may have hidden children, secret abortions, or affairs thinking no one knows. But the Lord sees.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.\u201d <strong>Proverbs 15:3 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>To Hidden Idolaters Among the Saints<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Yes even in the Church, there are some who secretly practice witchcraft, consult spirits, or use charms for &#8220;protection&#8221; or &#8220;prosperity.&#8221; These practices are <strong>abominations<\/strong> before God.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLet no one be found among you&#8230; who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft&#8230;\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Deuteronomy 18:10\u201312 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These individuals may shout \u201cAmen!\u201d and appear holy, but they are spiritually compromised.<br \/>\n<strong>Jesus knows their deeds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Wake Up, Church!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jesus&#8217; warning to the church in Sardis is particularly relevant:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 3:1\u20133 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.<br \/>\nWake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die&#8230;<br \/>\nBut if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is not the time to play church. <strong>This is the time to repent and live in holiness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Repent, While There Is Time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There is still grace available <strong>but grace is not a license to sin<\/strong> (Romans 6:1\u20132).<br \/>\nTrue repentance involves confession and turning away from sin.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.\u201d <strong>Proverbs 28:13 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cRepent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out&#8230;\u201d <strong>Acts 3:19 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Confess your sins to God. Talk to your spiritual leaders. Ask for prayer and accountability.<br \/>\nThe Lord is willing to forgive, restore, and empower you to walk in righteousness.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>The Lukewarm Will Be Rejected<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jesus despises spiritual complacency.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 3:15\u201316 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!<br \/>\nSo, because you are lukewarm neither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now is the time to fully surrender to Jesus. Half-hearted faith will not survive the coming judgment.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Judgment Is Coming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>God will judge the secrets of every heart.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis will take place on the day when God judges people\u2019s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.\u201d <strong>Romans 2:16 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart.\u201d <strong>1 Corinthians 4:5 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Friend, this is the final hour. <strong>Jesus is coming soon <\/strong>not as a Savior, but as a Judge.<br \/>\nPrepare your heart. Repent. Live in the light.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>May the Lord Bless You<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cToday, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Hebrews 3:15 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now is the day of salvation. Don\u2019t delay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shalom.
