\u201cThen some began to spit at Him; they blindfolded Him, struck Him with their fists, and said, \u2018Prophesy!\u2019 And the guards took Him and beat Him.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This moment describes physical and verbal abuse<\/strong> that Jesus faced during His unjust trial. Yes\u2014Jesus was punched, spat on, mocked, and beaten<\/strong>. These were not just symbolic gestures of suffering; they were real, brutal assaults<\/strong> endured by the Son of God.<\/p>\n

Many people are familiar with the fact that Jesus was scourged<\/strong>\u2014whipped severely\u2014by Roman soldiers (John 19:1<\/strong>):<\/p>\n

\u201cThen Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And He was spat on again<\/strong> during His torture:

This fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy is captured in Isaiah 52:13\u201314<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSee, My servant will act wisely; He will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.

However, the Bible emphasizes that we were redeemed at a very high cost<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 6:20<\/strong>:
\n\u201cYou were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Danger of Disregarding the Cross<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Treating the sacrifice of Christ lightly or casually is dangerous. It\u2019s not just offensive\u2014it\u2019s spiritually destructive.<\/p>\n

Hebrews 10:29:<\/strong>
\n\u201cHow much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus’ suffering should break our hearts. It should draw us to repentance, and lead us to live in gratitude and obedience, not indifference.<\/p>\n

A Call to Respond<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you haven\u2019t yet surrendered your life to Christ, don\u2019t delay. This isn\u2019t just about avoiding judgment\u2014it\u2019s about embracing eternal life<\/strong>, offered freely through Jesus.<\/p>\n

John 3:16<\/strong>
\n\u201cFor God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Imagine missing out on that gift\u2014not even because of the lake of fire, but simply being cut off from God forever<\/strong>. Isn\u2019t that a loss too great to risk?<\/p>\n

Revelation 20:15<\/strong>
\n\u201cAnyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus died and rose again to give you a new life now<\/strong>, and eternal life forever<\/strong>. Accept His gift. Don\u2019t wait.<\/p>\n
