The Christian life isn\u2019t static\u2014it\u2019s a journey filled with seasons. From the moment you receive Christ, your relationship with Him will go through different phases. There are times when God\u2019s presence is so evident that you feel like He\u2019s walking right beside you. But there are also times when He feels distant, hidden, or silent. These seasons aren’t signs that God has abandoned you\u2014they are invitations to seek Him more deeply.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Principle of Seeking<\/strong><\/h3>\n

God has established a spiritual principle: those who seek Him will find Him<\/strong>\u2014but that seeking is often meant to stretch us and mature our faith.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Jeremiah 29:13<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many believers don\u2019t expect this. When they no longer “feel” God as they used to, they begin to doubt their salvation or even question their calling. Some turn back, believing maybe it wasn\u2019t really God who saved them. But such seasons are not unusual\u2014they\u2019re part of the refining process.<\/p>\n

The Wise Men\u2019s Journey: A Pattern for Us<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Let\u2019s consider the story of the Magi<\/strong>, or wise men, in Matthew 2<\/strong>. These were likely scholars or astrologers from the East\u2014possibly Babylon\u2014who were deeply interested in spiritual matters. As they studied the heavens, God revealed something extraordinary: the birth of a divine King. They saw His star<\/strong> and began their journey toward it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, \u2018Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.\u2019\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Matthew 2:1\u20132\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They expected the star to guide them all the way. But when they reached Jerusalem, it disappeared. Imagine their confusion\u2014they had followed this supernatural sign across a vast distance, and now it was gone.<\/p>\n

This interruption didn\u2019t cause them to turn back. Instead, they started asking questions. They inquired of King Herod\u2014even though he was an enemy of Christ<\/strong>\u2014and learned from the religious leaders that the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem<\/strong>, fulfilling the prophecy in Micah 5:2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you, Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Matthew 2:6<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This shows us something important: God can use unlikely sources\u2014even enemies\u2014to lead His people closer to the truth.<\/strong> What matters is how you respond.<\/p>\n

The Star Reappears\u2014And So Does Joy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Once the Magi continued toward Bethlehem in obedience to the prophecy, the star reappeared.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Matthew 2:9\u201310<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They entered the house, saw Jesus with His mother Mary, and bowed in worship. They presented gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh\u2014gifts that symbolized Jesus\u2019 kingship, divinity, and future sacrifice.<\/p>\n

The Magi’s journey mirrors ours. There are moments of clarity (when the star shines), moments of silence (when it disappears), and moments of joy (when it reappears). The key is to keep moving forward in faith<\/strong> even when the path is unclear.<\/p>\n

From Shallow Faith to Deep Discipleship<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When we first come to Christ, it often feels like everything is fresh and alive. God speaks. Prayers are answered quickly. You see His hand in everything. But later on, He may seem hidden. That\u2019s not abandonment\u2014it\u2019s an invitation to grow.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature\u2026\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Hebrews 5:13\u201314<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is when we must go deeper. Study the Word. Ask questions. Pray and fast. Hunger for truth\u2014not just feelings. Faith matures in silence, not just in signs.<\/strong><\/p>\n
