In our Christian journey, we experience different seasons of grace. Early in our walk with God, He often carries us through challenges. Like a child learning to walk, we are helped, guided, and sometimes even carried. But just as a child eventually must learn to walk on their own, there comes a time in spiritual growth when God expects us to make decisions\u2014wise, faithful decisions\u2014on our own. This is a sign of maturity.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Season of Being Carried vs. The Season of Responsibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Genesis 19, Lot and his family are rescued from Sodom. At first, they are physically taken by the hand and led out of danger by angels\u2014an act of sheer grace and divine compassion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them.\u201d
\n\u2014Genesis 19:16<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But then, a shift happens. Once they are outside the city, they are given clear instructions:<\/p>\n

\u201cFlee for your lives! Don\u2019t look back, and don\u2019t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!\u201d
\n\u2014Genesis 19:17<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At this stage, the responsibility shifts to them. The grace that carried them is now calling them to act. Lot\u2019s wife, however, looks back\u2014an act of disobedience and longing for what God had condemned\u2014and she turns into a pillar of salt.<\/p>\n

This story illustrates that grace is not just about being saved; it\u2019s also about obeying and growing<\/strong>. It moves from external help to internal responsibility.<\/p>\n

\n

Laodicean Danger: Knowing Much, Changing Little<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Revelation 3:14\u201322, Jesus rebukes the church of Laodicea for being lukewarm<\/strong>\u2014not hot or cold. This is symbolic of many Christians today: we know the truth, we\u2019ve heard the sermons, seen the miracles, and read the Word, but real inward transformation is lacking.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, because you are lukewarm\u2014neither hot nor cold\u2014I am about to spit you out of my mouth.\u201d
\n\u2014Revelation 3:16<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The danger is in thinking that spiritual knowledge is the same as spiritual growth. But grace in this season requires movement, not just memory<\/strong>. It\u2019s not about how much you\u2019ve heard, but how much you\u2019ve obeyed.<\/p>\n

Even Jesus stopped \u201cpulling\u201d people after a point. In John 6:67, when many disciples left, He turned to the Twelve and asked:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou do not want to leave too, do you?\u201d
\n\u2014John 6:67<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In other words: You know enough now. What will you choose?<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Don\u2019t Take Grace for Granted<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hebrews 6 gives one of the strongest warnings in the New Testament:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit… and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.\u201d
\n\u2014Hebrews 6:4\u20136<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This passage is controversial but theologically clear: it warns against apostasy\u2014not just making mistakes, but a complete turning away after fully knowing the truth. Such people aren\u2019t ignorant; they\u2019ve experienced the depth of God\u2019s grace and still choose rebellion.<\/p>\n

The writer uses an agricultural metaphor to explain:<\/p>\n

\u201cLand that drinks in the rain… and produces a crop… receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless… and in the end it will be burned.\u201d
\n\u2014Hebrews 6:7\u20138<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The message? God\u2019s grace is real\u2014but so is His judgment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

It\u2019s Time to Grow Up Spiritually<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many of us are still waiting to be \u201cpushed\u201d into prayer, reminded to go to church, urged to fast, or begged to avoid sin. But if you’ve already been led out of spiritual darkness\u2014if you’ve tasted God\u2019s goodness\u2014it’s time to walk intentionally with Christ.<\/p>\n

The New Testament urges us to “make your calling and election sure”<\/strong> (2 Peter 1:10). This means taking responsibility for your spiritual growth. Lukewarm Christianity doesn\u2019t work in these last days. Jesus is returning\u2014and the time to be serious is now.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.\u201d
\n\u2014Revelation 22:11<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cLook, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.\u201d
\n\u2014Revelation 22:12<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

Run Forward. Don\u2019t Look Back.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019ve already been saved, don\u2019t long for the things God rescued you from. Don\u2019t assume grace will always “pull” you along. This is the season of action.<\/strong><\/p>\n
