Psalm 78:18\u201319 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p>\n

18<\/strong> They willfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved.<\/em>
\n19<\/strong> They spoke against God; they said, \u201cCan God really spread a table in the wilderness?\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The world \u201cto speak against\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cto speak contrary to\u201d<\/strong> God. It\u2019s not merely questioning it carries the tone of defiance, complaint, and unbelief<\/strong>. It reflects a posture of distrust<\/strong>, even in the face of God\u2019s demonstrated power.<\/p>\n

So in verse 19, when it says,
\n“They spoke against God, saying, \u2018Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?\u2019\u201d<\/strong>
\nit\u2019s not an innocent question. It\u2019s a rebellious statement<\/strong>, challenging God\u2019s ability and faithfulness.<\/p>\n

The passage is part of a larger Psalm (Psalm 78) that recounts Israel\u2019s repeated cycle of rebellion and God\u2019s continued mercy<\/strong>. Even after God delivered them from Egypt through miraculous signs and wonders (Psalm 78:12\u201316), they still doubted His provision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Their question “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?” <\/strong>was not born from lack of knowledge, but from a heart hardened by unbelief<\/strong> (cf. Hebrews 3:7\u201312). This question represents:<\/p>\n
