Why did God choose the death on the cross as the only way to redeem us? Was there really no other option for victory? Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong> God, being all-powerful (omnipotent), certainly could have chosen any method for our redemption (Jeremiah 32:17). But the reason why death became the necessary means is rooted in the nature of sin and God\u2019s justice.<\/p>\n

Before Adam sinned, God warned him:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will surely die.\u201d<\/strong> (Genesis 2:17).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was God\u2019s clear declaration that sin results in death \u2014 spiritual separation from God and ultimately physical death. The word \u201csurely die\u201d<\/strong> (Hebrew: muwth tamuth<\/em>) emphasizes the certainty of death as a consequence of disobedience.<\/p>\n

The Apostle Paul explains:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.\u201d<\/strong> (Romans 6:23).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This means sin\u2019s penalty must be paid in death \u2014 a just and holy God cannot ignore sin without punishing it. Therefore, for humanity to be reconciled to God, that penalty had to be paid.<\/p>\n

Jesus Christ, God\u2019s Son, took upon Himself the punishment we deserved. As Paul writes:<\/p>\n

\u201cChrist redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us…\u201d<\/strong> (Galatians 3:13).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In other words, Jesus stood in our place, bearing the full cost of sin, which is death.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like a binding contract: if one party breaks the terms, they owe a penalty. Humanity broke God\u2019s holy law, and the penalty was death (James 2:10). Jesus fulfilled the law perfectly and accepted the penalty on our behalf.<\/p>\n

By His death on the cross, Jesus satisfied God\u2019s justice and demonstrated God\u2019s love (Romans 5:8). His resurrection proves victory over sin and death, opening the way for us to have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:17\u201322).<\/p>\n

So, Jesus\u2019 death wasn\u2019t just a tragic event, but the divine plan of salvation, because there was no alternative way to remove the debt of sin except through His sacrifice.<\/p>\n
