Shalom, beloved of God<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Welcome as we once again open the Word of God. Though some of these truths may be familiar, today we explore them in deeper spiritual context. As Philippians 3:1 reminds us, repeating truth is a safeguard for our faith.<\/p>\n

God often reveals Himself in Scripture through symbols. Two of the most powerful are Wind and Fire. These symbols are not just poetic; they represent how God moves, purifies, and transforms His people. Let\u2019s explore how.<\/p>\n

1. The Wind: A Symbol of the Invisible Work of the Spirit<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Jesus spoke with Nicodemus about the new birth, He revealed something profound about the Holy Spirit\u2019s nature:<\/p>\n

\n

Do not marvel that I said to you, \u2018You must be born again.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it,<\/em><\/p>\n

but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes.<\/em><\/p>\n

So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.<\/em><\/p>\n

John 3:7\u20138 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jesus compares the Holy Spirit to wind\u2014unseen, unpredictable, yet undeniably powerful. The Greek word for both “Spirit” and “wind” here is \u201cpneuma\u201d, showing the deliberate spiritual link.<\/p>\n

Though wind cannot be seen, its presence is revealed by its effect\u2014moving trees, lifting dust, rustling leaves. In the same way, when the Spirit moves in a person\u2019s heart, you may not see Him directly, but the transformation is undeniable.<\/p>\n

\n

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.<\/em><\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.<\/em><\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Just as wind interacts with objects to create sound, the Spirit interacts with our hearts\u2014revealing sin, convicting us, producing spiritual fruit:<\/p>\n

\n

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.<\/em><\/p>\n

Galatians 5:22\u201323 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This inward change becomes visible to the world\u2014not because of outward religion, but because of inward transformation.<\/p>\n

\n

You will know them by their fruits.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. The Fire: A Symbol of Purity, Power, and Judgment<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the wind, the Holy Spirit is also described as fire.<\/p>\n

\n

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I\u2026 He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Matthew 3:11 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Fire is transformative. It burns away impurities, just as the Spirit purifies our hearts from sin. Just as gold is refined through intense heat, our spiritual life is refined through the Holy Spirit\u2019s fire.<\/p>\n

\n

He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;<\/em><\/p>\n

He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver,<\/em><\/p>\n

That they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.<\/em><\/p>\n

Malachi 3:3 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This fire consumes sin\u2014burning away pride, immorality, bitterness, rebellion\u2014and strengthens what is eternal, like faith, obedience, and holiness.<\/p>\n

But note: not all who experience God\u2019s fire are refined. Some are consumed.<\/p>\n

\n

For our God is a consuming fire.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hebrews 12:29 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

3. God\u2019s Fire: Blessing for the Righteous, Judgment for the Wicked<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fire of God sanctifies the righteous\u2014but judges the unrepentant. The same fire that empowers one person will destroy another.<\/p>\n

\n

Indeed, the fire will devour your enemies\u2026 The light of Israel will be for a fire,<\/em><\/p>\n

And his Holy One for a flame;<\/em><\/p>\n

It will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.<\/em><\/p>\n

Isaiah 10:17 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jesus spoke of eternal fire for the wicked:<\/p>\n

\n

Then He will also say to those on the left hand,<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2018Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Matthew 25:41 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The fire of hell is not metaphorical. It is real, and it reflects the eternal justice of God.<\/p>\n

\n

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Revelation 20:15 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This judgment fire begins even now for those who resist the truth and mock repentance. Though they may not see flames, their spiritual dryness, confusion, anxiety, and resistance to truth are signs of divine judgment.<\/p>\n

4. God’s Spirit: Available to All, but Not Accepted by All<\/strong><\/p>\n

God graciously gives His Spirit to both the righteous and the unrighteous.<\/p>\n

\n

He makes Him sun rise on the evil and on the good,<\/em><\/p>\n

and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.<\/em><\/p>\n

Matthew 5:45 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But for those who reject the Holy Spirit, His presence becomes a fire of judgment, not transformation.<\/p>\n

\n

Because I have called and you refused,<\/em><\/p>\n

I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

I also will laugh at your calamity\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer.<\/em><\/p>\n

5. An Urgent Call to Repentance and New Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

Knowing all this, the question remains:<\/p>\n

Why remain outside of Christ?<\/p>\n

Why risk facing the fire of judgment, when you can receive the fire of renewal?<\/p>\n

\n

Today, if you will hear His voice,<\/em><\/p>\n

Do not harden your hearts.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hebrews 3:15 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jesus offers a new beginning, through the wind and fire of the Holy Spirit. If you will repent today, turning from all sin, He will begin His work in you.<\/p>\n

\n

Therefore, repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away,<\/em><\/p>\n

in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n

Acts 3:19 (NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Then take the next step:<\/p>\n

\n

Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ<\/em><\/p>\n

for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Acts 2:38 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is the true Christian baptism\u2014immersion in water in Jesus\u2019 name, followed by the promise of the Holy Spirit, who will empower you, purify you, and seal you for eternal life (Ephesians 1:13\u201314).<\/p>\n

Final Encouragement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do not resist the fire or fear the wind. Instead, surrender to them.<\/p>\n

Let the wind of the Spirit guide you.<\/p>\n

Let the fire of God refine you.<\/p>\n

Let Christ save you.<\/p>\n

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth.<\/em><\/p>\n
