Every believer is called to be a witness of the gospel, which is the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>1. Evangelism Is the Lord\u2019s Command (The Great Commission)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Matthew 28:19\u201320\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTherefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nand teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This passage is known as <strong>the Great Commission<\/strong>. It outlines the mission of the Church and the believer. Jesus commands His disciples to make disciples, not just converts\u2014teaching them, baptizing them, and equipping them to follow Christ.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The word <em>&#8220;go&#8221;<\/em> is a command of active engagement.<\/li>\n<li><em>Discipleship<\/em> implies spiritual growth and commitment, not mere attendance or agreement.<\/li>\n<li>The <em>Trinitarian formula<\/em> (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) reveals God&#8217;s unity and His role in salvation.<\/li>\n<li>This commission was not limited to the original apostles but extends to every believer (cf. Acts 1:8).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>2. What Is the \u201cGood News\u201d?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Good News (Greek: <em>euangelion<\/em>) is the message of redemption\u2014<strong>that God has made a way for sinners to be saved through Jesus Christ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 Corinthians 15:3\u20134\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c&#8230;that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Romans 5:8\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Salvation is <em>by grace through faith<\/em> (Ephesians 2:8\u20139), not by human effort.<\/li>\n<li>Jesus&#8217; death was <em>substitutionary atonement<\/em>\u2014He took our place (Isaiah 53:5).<\/li>\n<li>His resurrection is central to Christian hope (1 Peter 1:3).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>3. Why Must We Share the Gospel?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>a) Because Jesus Commanded It<\/h4>\n<p>This is not a suggestion or gift for a few\u2014it is a command for all. Jesus gives us <strong>responsibility as stewards<\/strong> in His kingdom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John 15:8\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is to my Father\u2019s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Luke 12:42\u201344\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWho then is the faithful and wise manager&#8230;? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Every believer has been given a \u201cportion\u201d of God\u2019s work\u2014either through preaching, serving, giving, or discipling.<\/li>\n<li>Fruitfulness is not optional\u2014it is proof of a genuine walk with Christ.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>b) Because People Are Lost Without Christ<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Romans 10:14\u201315\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHow, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in&#8230;? And how can they preach unless they are sent?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>John 14:6\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Humanity is under sin (Romans 3:23), and the penalty is death (Romans 6:23).<\/li>\n<li>Christ is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).<\/li>\n<li>Faith comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17), thus the urgency of evangelism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>c) Because Heaven Rejoices When Sinners Repent<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:7\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c&#8230;there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>God is not indifferent\u2014He is emotionally involved in salvation.<\/li>\n<li>Evangelism reflects God\u2019s heart (John 3:16) and aligns us with His mission (2 Peter 3:9).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>d) Because You Have a Personal Testimony<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Mark 5:19\u201320\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGo home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Testimony is a form of <em>witness<\/em>\u2014a legal and spiritual declaration of God\u2019s reality.<\/li>\n<li>No one can refute your personal experience with Christ (John 9:25).<\/li>\n<li>God uses simple stories of transformation to draw others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>4. Ways to Evangelize<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>i) <strong>By Sharing Your Testimony<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>As in Mark 5, telling your personal story is one of the most effective ways to evangelize. Your life is proof that the gospel works.<\/p>\n<h4>ii) <strong>By Inviting People to Church<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The local church is God\u2019s ordained place for nurturing faith (Ephesians 4:11\u201313). Inviting others gives them access to teaching, fellowship, and encouragement.<\/p>\n<h4>iii) <strong>By Living a Godly Life<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>1 Peter 3:1\u20132\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c&#8230;they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A transformed life is a powerful testimony. Your actions can lead people to ask questions and seek Christ.<\/p>\n<h4>iv) <strong>By Using Modern Tools and Technology<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In this digital age, social media, blogs, videos, and messaging apps are powerful platforms for evangelism. Share sound teachings, Scriptures, and your experiences with others.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paul used letters and travel\u2014today, we use digital tools.<\/li>\n<li>The message remains sacred; only the medium changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>5. How to Overcome Fear in Evangelism<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Acts 1:8\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses\u2026\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>2 Timothy 1:7\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h4>Practical Steps:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Rely on the Holy Spirit for courage and wisdom.<\/li>\n<li>Pray before witnessing.<\/li>\n<li>Start with individuals before addressing larger groups.<\/li>\n<li>Know that results belong to God\u2014just plant the seed (1 Corinthians 3:6).<\/li>\n<li>Partner with another believer when possible (Luke 10:1).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>6. Key Scriptures to Memorize When Witnessing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>John 3:16<\/strong> \u2013 God\u2019s love for the world<\/li>\n<li><strong>Romans 3:23<\/strong> \u2013 All have sinned<\/li>\n<li><strong>Romans 6:23<\/strong> \u2013 The wages of sin is death<\/li>\n<li><strong>Romans 10:9\u201310<\/strong> \u2013 Confess and believe to be saved<\/li>\n<li><strong>2 Corinthians 5:17<\/strong> \u2013 New creation in Christ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evangelism isn\u2019t about being perfect or having all the answers\u2014it\u2019s about <strong>being available, faithful, and obedient<\/strong>.
