This is a deeply important question that people have asked for generations\u2014even during the time of Jesus. And today, the same question remains:<\/span><\/p>\n

Will the number of people who are saved be many or few?<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Jesus Answers the Question: \u201cAre There Few Who Are Saved?\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Luke 13:23\u201324<\/strong>, someone asked Jesus:<\/p>\n

\u201cLord, are there few who are saved?\u201d
\nAnd He said to them,
\n\u201cStrive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus didn\u2019t answer with a simple \u201cyes\u201d or \u201cno.\u201d Instead, He gave a warning: entering the Kingdom of God is not automatic. It takes intentional effort<\/strong> and spiritual discipline<\/strong>. Many will want<\/em> to enter, but only few will actually succeed<\/strong>, because the gate is narrow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Later in the passage (Luke 13:25\u201327<\/strong>), Jesus described people who will try to enter after the door has been shut. Though they had some connection with Jesus\u2014perhaps they heard His teachings or were part of religious activities\u2014He will say to them:<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not know you\u2026 Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This reveals a key theological truth: familiarity with Jesus is not enough<\/strong>. Salvation requires obedience<\/strong>, not just association.<\/p>\n

2. The Narrow Way vs. the Broad Way<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Matthew 7:13\u201314<\/strong>, Jesus said:<\/p>\n

\u201cEnter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.<\/em>
\nBecause narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This points to two key realities:<\/p>\n
