There are countless examples in Scripture of people who tried to reduce God to a transactional being someone they could consult only in times of trouble, without any relationship, repentance, or reverence. Tragically, many of these individuals ended up destroyed.<\/p>\n

This is a critical warning<\/strong> to all believers: God is not a witch doctor. He is holy, and He demands holiness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\ud83d\udeab The Witch Doctor Mentality<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A witch doctor offers quick, impersonal solutions. Most who visit one don\u2019t know them personally, don\u2019t follow their teachings, and don\u2019t intend to change their lifestyle. They simply want results answers, power, healing, or protection.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, this is how many people approach God today. They neglect Him in daily life, live in open rebellion, and harbor sin in their hearts but when a crisis hits, they run to Him for help. That is not faith. That is idolatry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\ud83d\udcd6 Biblical Examples of This Dangerous Approach<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Jeroboam and His Wife\u00a0 Seeking a Word While in Rebellion<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cArise, go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there… But Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were dim… And the Lord said to Ahijah, \u2018…Behold, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire of you concerning her son…\u2019\u201d<\/em>
\n1 Kings 14:2\u20135, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

King Jeroboam sent his wife, in disguise, to inquire of the prophet Ahijah about their sick son. Though the prophet had gone blind, God had already revealed the deceit. The message was not healing but judgment: their child would die, and disaster would fall on Jeroboam\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

Why? Because Jeroboam had led Israel into idolatry. He didn\u2019t want relationship or repentance only results.<\/p>\n

\n

2. King Ahab\u00a0 Deceived by 400 Prophets<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cAnd the Lord said, \u2018Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?\u2019 \u2026 And the Lord said, \u2018You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.\u2019\u201d<\/em>
\n1 Kings 22:20,22, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

King Ahab wanted to go to war, and instead of seeking God sincerely, he listened to 400 prophets who falsely promised victory. These prophets were allowed by God to speak lies because Ahab had already rejected God\u2019s truth long ago. He was fatally confirmed in his delusion.<\/p>\n

This is a chilling example of divine judgment through deception<\/strong> (cf. Romans 1:24\u201325).<\/p>\n

\n

3. Balaam\u00a0 Permitted, Yet Nearly Killed<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cGod said to Balaam, \u2018Go with the men, but only speak the word that I tell you.\u2019 So Balaam went\u2026 But God\u2019s anger was kindled because he went, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as his adversary.\u201d<\/em>
\nNumbers 22:20\u201322, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God allowed Balaam to go, yet He was angry. Why? Because Balaam\u2019s heart was greedy (2 Peter 2:15). He wanted to serve his own interests while appearing obedient. The angel of the Lord stood in his path to kill him, and his donkey saw it before he did.<\/p>\n

Permission is not always approval. Be warned.<\/p>\n

\n

\ud83d\udcac God\u2019s Warning Through Ezekiel<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cSon of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts\u2026 Should I indeed let myself be consulted by them?\u201d<\/em>
\nEzekiel 14:3, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God told Ezekiel that even when people come outwardly seeking Him, if their hearts are filled with idols, He will not answer as they expect<\/strong>. In fact, He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI the Lord will answer him myself\u2026 I will set my face against that man\u2026 And if the prophet is deceived, I the Lord have deceived that prophet.\u201d<\/em>
\nEzekiel 14:4\u20139, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God can, and sometimes does, deliberately allow deception<\/strong> as judgment especially when people persist in hypocrisy while seeking Him as a last resort.<\/p>\n

\n

\u26a0\ufe0f Today\u2019s Church Is Not Exempt<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many modern believers behave the same way. They live in secret sin drunkenness, pornography, corruption, sexual immorality, idol worship, syncretism and yet go to church, request prayers, anointing oil, or prophecy. They want healing, financial blessings, and breakthroughs but not holiness or repentance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This is spiritual adultery.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.\u201d<\/em>
\n1 Corinthians 10:21, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cStrive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.\u201d<\/em>
\nHebrews 12:14, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God is not interested in your church attendance, your offerings, or how many services you attend. He wants your heart and your holiness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u2705 What Should You Do Instead?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Repent<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Truly turn away from your sin. Confess and forsake it (Proverbs 28:13).<\/li>\n
  2. Seek Relationship, Not Results<\/strong>\u00a0 God desires intimacy, not manipulation (James 4:8).<\/li>\n
  3. Prioritize Holiness<\/strong>\u00a0 God said, \u201cBe holy, for I am holy\u201d<\/em> (1 Peter 1:16).<\/li>\n
  4. Receive the True Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0 Not a gospel of convenience or comfort, but of death to self<\/strong> and new life in Christ (Luke 9:23\u201324).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    \n

    \u2696\ufe0f If You Ignore This, You Will Die<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Maybe not physically at first, but spiritually you will die and eventually, if you persist, the judgment will follow.<\/p>\n

    \u201cDo not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.\u201d<\/em>
    \nGalatians 6:7, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    \u201cThe wages of sin is death.\u201d<\/em>
    \nRomans 6:23, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    If you’re still in sin, and you’re going to church, singing in the choir, or taking communion without repentance <\/strong>you\u2019re not getting closer to God. You\u2019re bringing judgment on yourself (1 Corinthians 11:27\u201330).<\/p>\n

    \u271d\ufe0f The Way Forward<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Return to the Lord. Seek Him with your whole heart. He is merciful to the truly repentant.<\/p>\n

    \u201cDraw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.\u201d<\/em>
    \nJames 4:8, ESV<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Let go of religious games. Stop treating God like a witch doctor. Come to Him in spirit and truth because eternity is real<\/strong>, and God is not to be mocked.<\/p>\n
