Many people\u2014even some Christians\u2014feel anxious when they hear about the coming judgment day. The idea of standing before God fills them with fear and worry. But <\/span>the good news<\/strong> is that the Bible assures us it\u2019s possible to <\/span>escape God\u2019s judgment<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The Promise to Those Who Believe<\/h3>\n

Jesus said:<\/p>\n

\n

John 5:24<\/strong>
\u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This verse teaches the assurance of salvation<\/strong> \u2014 those who truly believe in Jesus Christ receive eternal life and do not face condemnation. The phrase “passed from death into life” means a spiritual transformation has already occurred. They are no longer under condemnation but alive in Christ (see also Romans 8:1).<\/p>\n

\n

What Does It Mean to Believe?<\/h3>\n

Is belief merely intellectual acknowledgment or verbal confession? The Bible warns against a superficial faith:<\/p>\n

James 2:19\u00a0<\/strong>
\u201cYou believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe\u2014and tremble!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The demons believe the facts<\/strong> but remain lost. True belief includes faith that leads to obedience and transformation<\/strong> (James 2:17).<\/p>\n

\n

Faith Must Be Evidenced by Obedience and Repentance<\/h3>\n

Consider this illustration: at a crossroads, two signs point in different directions. To reach your destination, you must follow the correct path\u2014not just acknowledge it exists.<\/p>\n

Similarly, faith must be accompanied by repentance<\/strong> \u2014 turning away from sin and following Jesus\u2019 way:<\/p>\n

Acts 3:19<\/strong>
\u201cRepent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Repentance is a change of mind and heart<\/strong> leading to a new lifestyle consistent with God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n

\n

The Evidence of Genuine Faith<\/h3>\n

If you have genuinely repented and been baptized, your life should increasingly reflect that change:<\/p>\n
