{"id":53456,"date":"2019-09-08T22:32:58","date_gmt":"2019-09-08T19:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/?p=53456"},"modified":"2025-07-24T13:09:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T10:09:06","slug":"the-kings-from-the-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/en\/2019\/09\/08\/the-kings-from-the-east\/","title":{"rendered":"The Kings from the East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Text:<\/strong> <em style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Revelation 16:12\u201316\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThen the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, <strong>so that the way of the kings from the East might be prepared<\/strong>.<br \/>\nAnd I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.<br \/>\nFor they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, <strong>to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty<\/strong>.<br \/>\n\u2018Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.\u2019<br \/>\nAnd they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, <strong>Armageddon<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>1. <strong>Spiritual Symbolism of Rivers in the Bible<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Scripture, rivers often carry spiritual symbolism. They can represent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Boundaries between one season and the next<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Obstacles that must be overcome with God&#8217;s help<\/strong>, or<\/li>\n<li><strong>Channels of God\u2019s blessing<\/strong> (Psalm 1:3).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, the <strong>Jordan River<\/strong> was a physical and spiritual barrier that the Israelites had to cross to enter the Promised Land (Joshua 3:14\u201317). Crossing it wasn\u2019t possible by human means\u2014it required <strong>divine intervention<\/strong>. This reveals a principle: <strong>when God&#8217;s people face impossible obstacles, God makes a way where there is no way<\/strong> (Isaiah 43:19).<\/p>\n<p>In the same way, <strong>the Euphrates River in Revelation 16<\/strong> serves as a spiritual boundary\u2014one that God dries up as a <strong>prophetic signal<\/strong> to allow judgment to unfold. The drying of this river represents <strong>the removal of divine restraint<\/strong>, opening the way for <strong>demonic forces to mobilize the world for war<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>2. <strong>The Four Rivers of Eden\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Genesis 2:10\u201314, a river flowed out of Eden and split into four heads: <strong>Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel (Tigris), and Euphrates<\/strong>. These rivers symbolized <strong>abundance, divine presence, and spiritual order<\/strong>. After the fall of man, it is implied spiritually that this divine flow began to \u201cdry up,\u201d ushering in spiritual death (Romans 5:12).<\/p>\n<p>The final river mentioned, <strong>Euphrates<\/strong>, reappears in Revelation 16. Its drying up marks the <strong>full removal of spiritual covering<\/strong> and the <strong>opening of judgment<\/strong>\u2014a reversal of Eden&#8217;s abundance due to humanity\u2019s rebellion.<\/p>\n<p>This is a picture: when man rejects God, <strong>judgment replaces blessing<\/strong>, and <strong>chaos replaces order<\/strong> (Romans 1:18\u201332).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>3. <strong>The Rise of Eastern Powers \u2013 Fulfilling Prophecy<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Revelation 16:12 says the way is prepared for the \u201c<strong>kings from the east<\/strong>.\u201d Historically, this was hard to interpret. For centuries, Eastern nations had little military or global power. But today, nations such as <strong>China, North Korea, and Iran<\/strong> have become military giants. These nations represent a <strong>shifting global power structure<\/strong> in line with biblical prophecy.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus warned about <strong>wars and rumors of wars<\/strong> as signs of the end times (Matthew 24:6\u20137). The <strong>military threats<\/strong> and tensions between the East and West today point toward <strong>the global war prophesied in Revelation<\/strong>, culminating in <strong>Armageddon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>4. <strong>The Battle of Armageddon \u2013 Final Confrontation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The kings from the East, empowered by <strong>demonic spirits<\/strong> (Revelation 16:14), will lead a coalition of nations into the <strong>final battle against God\u2019s people<\/strong>\u2014especially Israel (Zechariah 14:2\u20133). This war, called <strong>Armageddon<\/strong>, will involve <strong>an army of 200 million soldiers<\/strong> (Revelation 9:16).<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t metaphorical\u2014it\u2019s a <strong>literal global war<\/strong> that will involve unimaginable destruction. One hydrogen bomb today can kill over 34 million people. Thousands of such weapons already exist worldwide. Jesus warned that unless those days were shortened, <strong>no flesh would survive<\/strong> (Matthew 24:22).<\/p>\n<p>This war will end only when <strong>Christ returns<\/strong> (Revelation 19:11\u201321), defeating the beast, the false prophet, and the armies gathered against Him.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>5. <strong>Where Do We Stand? A Call to Wake Up<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We must ask ourselves:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;What time are we living in?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The answer is urgent: <strong>we are living in the final moments of human history<\/strong>. The signs are clear, the world is unstable, and <strong>prophecy is being fulfilled in real time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 16:15)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is a call to <strong>spiritual vigilance<\/strong>. Many are asleep, focused on material success, yet unaware of the eternal danger ahead. Jesus warned that gaining the whole world without Him is a tragic loss (Mark 8:36).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>6. <strong>The Urgency of Salvation \u2013 Come to Christ Now<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There is still hope. <strong>The door of grace is still open<\/strong>, but time is short (2 Corinthians 6:2).<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t know Jesus Christ personally, now is the time to repent and believe the Gospel. He died to save you, and He will return to reign. Don\u2019t be among those who are left behind to face the wrath of God.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>(1 Thessalonians 5:9)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Conclusion: Come, Lord Jesus<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Euphrates is drying up\u2014literally and spiritually. The kings of the East are rising. The world is aligning itself for the final battle.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Are you ready?<br \/>\nHave you given your life to Christ?<br \/>\nWill you be found watching, or will you be caught unaware?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Choose today whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15).
