\u201cPlease tell us\u2014because of whom has this calamity come upon us? What is your occupation? Where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?\u201d<\/p>\n

Blessed be the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us meditate together on the Scriptures.<\/p>\n
In life, there are four crucial areas that you must align with God\u2019s will:<\/p>\n
Your work<\/p>\n
Your tribe or lineage<\/p>\n
Your nation<\/p>\n
Your place of origin<\/p>\n
These four pillars can either build or destroy your life. If any of them is out of alignment before God, it can bring storms and turmoil into your life.<\/p>\n
Biblical Example: Jonah\u2019s Storm<\/p>\n
In Jonah 1:7\u201311, the sailors cast lots to discover the cause of their deadly storm, and the lot fell on Jonah. They asked him about his occupation, his origin, his country, and his people. Jonah confessed:<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a Hebrew, and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.\u201d<\/p>\n
He admitted that he was running away from the calling God had placed on his life. Only then did the sailors understand the source of their trouble and sought a solution before the situation worsened.<\/p>\n
If Jonah had not been fleeing from God\u2019s work, and the sea still raged, the cause might have been his tribe, his country, or his place of origin. The lesson is clear: storms in life often have spiritual roots.<\/p>\n
1. Your Work<\/p>\n
Your work can bring storms or peace. Whatever work you do\u2014whether with your hands or in ministry\u2014must please God. Be faithful and honest, avoiding deceit and theft.<\/p>\n
If you are called to serve God, do not neglect your calling or perform it half-heartedly, lest you face storms like Jonah.<\/p>\n
\u201cCursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully.\u201d (Jeremiah 48:10, NKJV)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Every believer has a role in God\u2019s work (1 Corinthians 12:7). Examine yourself: Are you fulfilling your divine assignment diligently?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
2. Your Tribe<\/p>\n
Many tribes hold traditions and rituals contrary to the Word of God\u2014practices involving idolatry, witchcraft, and ungodly customs. After salvation, you must renounce all such practices. Some customs are so shameful they cannot even be mentioned (Ephesians 5:11-12).<\/p>\n
This does not mean rejecting or despising your family. Instead, honor, love, pray for, and live peacefully with your relatives while refusing to partake in customs that defy God.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
3. Your Nation<\/p>\n
Your nation can also be a source of storms. Some countries legally endorse things that oppose God\u2019s commands, such as same-sex marriages, drug abuse, abortion, or bestiality. Such nations come under God\u2019s judgment (Romans 1:18-32).<\/p>\n
As a believer, you are called to live set apart, even while dwelling among such people. Like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who lived in Babylon but refused to compromise their faith (Daniel 1:8; 3:16\u201318), you must shine as a light in the darkness (Matthew 5:14-16).<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
4. Your Place of Origin<\/p>\n
Sometimes even your specific hometown or environment can have spiritual influences that affect your life. Choose to participate only in what glorifies God and reject all that is contrary to His ways (2 Corinthians 6:17).<\/p>\n
Raising the Next Generation<\/p>\n
If God has blessed you with children, raise them in the ways of the Lord while they are still young:<\/p>\n
\u201cTrain up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.\u201d (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV)<\/p>\n
And if you yourself are not yet saved, the door of grace is still open. Do not despise the Gospel of Christ, which is offered freely. Salvation is precious beyond measure\u2014so costly that no amount of money in the world could purchase it.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.\u201d (Ephesians 2:8\u20139, NKJV)<\/p>\n
Receive Jesus today, be baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit for the safety and eternal security of your soul.<\/p>\n
