Can my weakness or disability prevent people from believing in Jesus?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ\u2014welcome to this Bible teaching.<\/p>\n

There is a very important question that many people ask: \u201cIf I have a problem with my sight, or hearing, or a visible disability, and I go out to preach or witness\u2014will people truly be saved? Won\u2019t they ask me, \u2018Why hasn\u2019t this God healed you first, before trying to heal us?\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This is one of the weapons Satan uses to make sure the gospel is never preached! Another weapon he uses is a voice that whispers, \u201cYou have blasphemed the Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/em> So if you ever hear any voice telling you these two things\u2014\u201cYou cannot preach because of your weakness\u201d<\/em> or \u201cYou have already blasphemed the Holy Spirit\u201d<\/em>\u2014know right away that these are voices of the enemy, Satan. Ignore them completely!<\/p>\n

Now before going further, let us understand a few important truths:<\/p>\n

1. God entrusted the gospel to humans, not angels.<\/h3>\n

Nowhere in Scripture do we see God sending angels to preach the gospel. And there is no human being created by God who is without flaws. Even that famous and respected preacher you know has countless shortcomings. God knows all human beings are flawed, yet He gave them<\/em> the assignment of carrying His Word to others.<\/p>\n

If God had based this assignment on perfection, no human would qualify to preach. Perhaps He would have used His holy angels in heaven instead. But He chose imperfect human vessels.<\/p>\n

This means our flaws have nothing to do with our qualification to preach the Word of God!<\/h3>\n

Whether you are tall or short, articulate or not, stammering, White or African, albino, deaf, blind, limbless, rich or poor, literate or illiterate, socially insignificant or prominent\u2014so long as you are human<\/em>, you are qualified to carry God\u2019s Word to others.<\/p>\n

2. The first qualification to preach is having the Word of God in you.<\/h3>\n

This is the foundation. Even in the natural, no teacher can instruct students in knowledge he doesn\u2019t have himself. In the same way, the Word of Christ must dwell richly within you. That comes by receiving the Savior Jesus Christ, reading His Word, and living<\/strong> that Word.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom\u2026\u201d<\/em>
\u2014 Colossians 3:16 (KJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Once that happens, you can preach the gospel to anyone. Don\u2019t wait to see visions, or for Jesus or an angel to appear to you. Many wait for such experiences and never get started. They hope to hear a voice saying, \u201cGo and preach!\u201d<\/em> But brother, sister\u2014do not wait for that voice; you may never hear it.<\/p>\n

Why? Because He has already spoken clearly in His Word:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cGo ye therefore, and teach all nations\u2026\u201d<\/em>
\u2014 Matthew 28:19 (KJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That command is enough. Don\u2019t wait for another voice\u2014you will not hear one!<\/p>\n

\n

What transforms a person if not our eloquence or hearing ability?<\/h3>\n

Let\u2019s read the following Scripture and we will know:<\/p>\n

\n

Hebrews 4:12-13 (KJV)<\/strong>
\u201cFor the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It says, \u201cThe Word of God\u201d<\/em>\u2014not our polished speech, not our ability to compose sweet sentences, not our skin color, not our keen ears, not our excellent eyesight, height, or education. It is God\u2019s Word<\/strong> that is powerful.<\/p>\n

When it is spoken by any<\/strong> human being who holds it in their heart, it pierces deep into the heart of the hearer. It convicts, divides, reveals secrets, and pulls a person out of their ordinary state. While you might be thinking they’re analyzing your stammer or flaws, the Holy Spirit is wrestling with them deep within.<\/p>\n

\n

2 Corinthians 10:4\u20135 (KJV)<\/strong>
\u201c(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

Don\u2019t listen to the lies of Satan that discourage you from preaching the gospel.<\/h3>\n

If you don\u2019t hear well\u2014preach anyway! If someone asks you a question, lean in and listen closely. If you still can\u2019t hear\u2014keep moving forward. Don\u2019t dwell on your weakness. Chances are, the person isn\u2019t even focused on your weakness. And even if they are, the Word you speak\u2014even one verse<\/strong>\u2014is the power of God<\/strong> and a seed sown.<\/p>\n

Many wrongly assume that preaching the gospel requires many words. That\u2019s not true! If a preacher speaks at length, it\u2019s because the Spirit leads him to. But even one word<\/strong> of God is enough to break a hardened heart.<\/p>\n

With just one command\u2014\u201cLet there be light\u201d<\/em>\u2014God created the sun we still see today.<\/p>\n

So don\u2019t depend on training or skill to share God\u2019s Word. Seek the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, and then use the gift God has given you.<\/p>\n

\n

Example: Fanny Crosby<\/h3>\n

One famous woman, Fanny Crosby, was born healthy but lost her sight two weeks after birth. She lived blind for 95 years. Despite her condition, she never stopped seeking how to serve God. She wrote over 8,000 hymns<\/strong> in the 19th century and was known as the Queen of Gospel Songs<\/em> and The Blind Hymnist.<\/em><\/p>\n

Two of her most famous hymns that you probably know and sing today\u2014\u201cPass Me Not, O Gentle Savior\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cBlessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine\u201d<\/strong>\u2014were written by this blind woman. Through her singing and ministry, she brought many people to Christ.<\/p>\n

\n

Therefore, let each one of us stand firm in what God has placed within us, ensuring that the gospel reaches as many people as possible.<\/p>\n
