Why should you not put your trust in false words?<\/p>\n
Just before the judgment of God comes upon a person, a nation, or the entire world, Satan often raises a powerful wave of false prophets, whose mission is to soften and downplay the severity of the coming judgment.<\/p>\n
Why? Because Satan knows that if people truly reflect on God\u2019s coming judgment, many will repent\u2014and that means he loses them. His primary goal is to drag as many souls as possible into hell with him (Revelation 12:12; Matthew 25:41).<\/p>\n
Let us look at a powerful Biblical example that sheds full light on this matter. It is important to test every teaching with the Word of God. If a message or prophecy does not align with Scripture\u2014or contradicts it\u2014it is false. The Bible says:<\/p>\n
\u201cTo<\/em> the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light in them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Example of Israel\u2019s Fall into Captivity<\/p>\n
In the book of 2 Chronicles 36:15\u201317, we see a tragic moment in Israel\u2019s history. The people had become so rebellious and wicked that God warned them they would soon be taken into captivity\u2014just as they had once been under Pharaoh in Egypt.<\/p>\n
God sent His servants, the prophets, to warn them, calling them to repentance. But they refused to listen:<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people… But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
2 Chronicles 36:15\u201316<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Instead of heeding God\u2019s true prophets\u2014like Isaiah and Jeremiah, who warned them to humble themselves and surrender to Babylon\u2014they chose to believe false prophets who promised peace, prosperity, and safety.<\/p>\n
One such false prophet was Hananiah, who openly contradicted Jeremiah’s prophecy of judgment.<\/p>\n
False Comfort vs. True Warning<\/p>\n
In Jeremiah 28, Hananiah prophesied that God had broken the yoke of Babylon and that within two years, the exiles would return, and peace would be restored. Let\u2019s read part of this:<\/p>\n
\u201cThus speaks the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: \u2018I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. Within two full years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord\u2019s house… and I will bring back to this place Jeconiah… and all the captives of Judah.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Jeremiah 28:2\u20134<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Jeremiah replied with deep discernment:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe prophets who have been before me… prophesied of war and disaster and pestilence… As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, then the prophet will be known, as one whom the Lord has truly sent.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Jeremiah 28:8\u20139<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But Hananiah continued in deception, even breaking the wooden yoke Jeremiah wore as a prophetic sign. The Lord responded swiftly:<\/p>\n
\u201cThen the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, \u2018Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, but you make these people trust in a lie.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Jeremiah<\/em> 28:15<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And God’s judgment followed:<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore thus says the Lord: \u2018Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the Lord.\u2019 So Hananiah the prophet died the same year…\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Same Spirit of Deception is Active Today<\/p>\n
What happened in Israel is exactly what is happening in our generation.<\/p>\n
We are drawing near to the end of time. The Day of Judgment is approaching. Many people are beginning to think about eternity, about the afterlife, about heaven and hell.<\/p>\n
And just like in the days of Jeremiah, Satan has raised up a great multitude of false prophets to mislead people. Their job is to make people trust in lies.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have also healed the hurt of My people slightly,Saying, \u2018Peace, peace!\u2019 When there is no peace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Jeremiah<\/em> 6:14<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
These preachers rarely speak of sin, repentance, or judgment. Instead, they focus on:<\/p>\n
Prosperity and wealth<\/p>\n
Economic breakthroughs<\/p>\n
Finding marriage partners<\/p>\n
Success and destiny<\/p>\n
But never on how to escape sin, how to crucify the flesh, how to live in holiness, or prepare for eternity. They see visions of you getting married tomorrow but can\u2019t see the judgment awaiting you if you don\u2019t repent.<\/p>\n
They will prophesy over your business while you\u2019re still living in adultery, drunkenness, unforgiveness, and idolatry\u2014and never confront you.<\/p>\n
Yet Jesus said:<\/p>\n
\u201cUnless you repent, you will all likewise perish.\u201d<\/p>\n
Luke 13:3<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
A False Sense of Security<\/p>\n
The Bible warns us in no uncertain terms:<\/p>\n
\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n
For<\/em> when they say, \u2018Peace and safety!\u2019 then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.\u201d<\/p>\n
1 Thessalonians 5:3<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Today, many people are asking deep spiritual questions about the afterlife\u2014but find no answers. Instead, they are told only about earthly success. But what benefit is there if someone gains the whole world and loses their soul?<\/p>\n
\u201cFor<\/em> what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?\u201dMark 8:36<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
What Should You Do?<\/p>\n
If you have not yet been forgiven of your sins, know that Jesus is ready to forgive you\u2014no matter how great your sins may be. Countless people have received mercy through Him, and you can too.<\/p>\n
Do not wait. The door of grace is still open, but not forever. A time will come when many will seek to repent, but it will be too late (Luke 13:24\u201328).<\/p>\n
Steps to Take:<\/p>\n
Separate yourself for a moment of reflection.<\/p>\n
Confess your sins honestly before God, and repent (Proverbs 28:13).<\/p>\n
Turn away from those sins in action, not just in words.<\/p>\n
Be baptized if you haven’t already\u2014according to Scripture:<\/p>\n
\u201cJohn also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
John 3:23<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cRepent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
Acts 2:38<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Let the Holy Spirit lead and empower you to live a holy life and understand the Scriptures.<\/p>\n
Final Warning:<\/p>\n
Do not be deceived by sweet words that ignore the truth of God\u2019s coming judgment. Reject the voices that comfort your sin instead of confronting it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep\u2019s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.\u201d<\/p>\n
