Blessed be the name of our Lord JESUS.<\/p>\n

God often speaks to us in our hearts, but many times we fail to pay attention to His voice. As a result, we end up in unnecessary troubles and hardships.<\/p>\n

The consequences of ignoring God\u2019s voice are serious. Let us learn from the story of the prodigal son, who demanded his inheritance from his father.<\/p>\n

Luke 15:11\u201313<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cJesus continued: \u2018There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, \u2018Father, give me my share of the estate.\u2019 So he divided his property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The son ignored the inner voice of wisdom and chose the path of self-indulgence. Scripture continues:<\/p>\n

Luke 15:14\u201316<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAfter he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But then comes the turning point:<\/p>\n

Luke 15:17\u201318<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWhen he came to his senses, he said, \u2018How many of my father\u2019s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The phrase \u201cwhen he came to his senses\u201d<\/em> or literally \u201cwhen he considered in his heart\u201d<\/em> shows us that God had already been speaking to him inwardly for a long time. His conscience was warning him that the path he had chosen was wrong, but he kept ignoring it\u2014until the day he finally decided to listen.<\/p>\n

This is how God speaks to us today. Sometimes it is through His Spirit nudging our conscience, reminding us: \u201cDo not go that way. Do not continue in that sin. Turn back to God.\u201d<\/em> But many of us harden our hearts and refuse to pay attention.<\/p>\n

The Bible says:<\/p>\n

Proverbs 23:26<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cMy son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Lord does not merely want our outward actions, but our hearts. When we ignore His voice, we walk into destruction. But when we yield, repent, and return to Him, we experience restoration\u2014just like the prodigal son.<\/p>\n
