Is there really any importance in studying the Word daily?<\/p>\n
When we look at the life of the Apostle Paul, we see a man who was filled with deep revelations about God and our Lord Jesus Christ\u2014so much so that the Lord used his teachings as the foundational doctrine of the church up to this very day. Why? Because Paul never tired of reading, meditating, and learning from the Word of God every single day. He was not someone who became overly familiar or casual with the Scriptures.<\/p>\n
Even near the end of his life, when he was already old and knew that his departure was near, Paul still desired to read and grow in God\u2019s Word. He instructed Timothy not only about leading the church but also to bring him the scrolls and books, especially the parchments, so that he could continue to study.<\/p>\n
2 Timothy 4:6\u20138, 13<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. Think about this: Paul, who had seen the risen Christ face to face, who was caught up into the third heaven and heard \u201cinexpressible things\u201d (2 Corinthians 12:2\u20134), still longed to study Scripture until his final days. He knew revelation is continuous. God always has more to show His children through His Word.<\/p>\n This is also what we see in the prophet Daniel. At first, Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s dream of the great statue in Daniel 2\u2014representing the four kingdoms that would rise and fall until the end of the age. But Daniel did not stop there. In later chapters (Daniel 7\u201312), God revealed to him even greater details: the character of these kingdoms, the rise of the Antichrist, the abomination of desolation, the seventy weeks prophecy pointing to the coming of the Messiah, and the final resurrection.<\/p>\n Daniel 9:2<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIn the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years that, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass before the end of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice that Daniel came to understand prophecy by reading the Scriptures<\/em>. He never became complacent with what God had already revealed but sought Him for deeper understanding.<\/p>\n The same applies to us today. We must not say, \u201cI have already read the whole Bible, so there is nothing new to learn.\u201d The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). Each time we approach it with humility and hunger, the Spirit of God opens our eyes to fresh truth.<\/p>\n God desires us to grow\u2014from spiritual infancy to maturity (Ephesians 4:13\u201315)\u2014so that we may handle even the \u201cmeat\u201d of the Word (Hebrews 5:12\u201314), not just the basics. This growth only comes when we continually study, meditate, and pray for revelation without becoming too familiar or casual with Scripture.<\/p>\n And if you are reading this but have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, the urgency is even greater. We are living in the last days. The trumpet will soon sound, the dead in Christ will rise, and together with the living saints, we will meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16\u201317). Will you be there at the marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7\u20139), or will you be left behind to face the Antichrist and eternal separation from God?<\/p>\n God has already shown His love by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for us. His blood was shed freely for your salvation.<\/p>\n John 3:16<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Therefore, repent wherever you are, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and be baptized. He will grant you peace now and everlasting life when He returns.<\/p>\n May the Lord bless you richly.<\/p>\n
