Scripture records that he composed a vast number of proverbs and songs:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cHe also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>1 Kings 4:32 (ESV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Among all the songs Solomon wrote, <strong>this particular one was considered the best <\/strong>thus its title, <em>\u201cThe Song of Songs\u201d<\/em> (i.e., the greatest song). This phrase follows a <strong>Hebrew superlative pattern<\/strong>, much like the expressions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u201cKing of kings\u201d<\/strong> (<em>1 Timothy 6:15<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cHoly of holies\u201d<\/strong> (<em>Exodus 26:33\u201334<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Such expressions are used to emphasize <strong>supremacy or excellence<\/strong>. Therefore, just as the <em>\u201cKing of kings\u201d<\/em> is the highest of all kings, the <em>\u201cSong of Songs\u201d<\/em> is the finest among songs.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>The Song of Songs\u00a0 More Than Poetry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This book stands as one of Solomon\u2019s most profound writings, carrying deep wisdom inspired by God.
