When Isaac arrived in a place called <\/span>Gerar<\/strong>, he remembered the wells that his father <\/span>Abraham<\/strong> had dug in earlier times. But when he looked for them, he found they had been <\/span>stopped up and destroyed<\/strong>. Isaac did not give up\u00a0 he began the work of <\/span>digging the wells again<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

When he reopened the first well<\/strong>, and water came out, the local herders quarreled<\/strong> with his men. So Isaac named it Esek<\/strong>, meaning dispute<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He moved on and dug another well<\/strong>\u00a0 and again, it was contested<\/strong>. He called it Sitnah<\/strong>, meaning opposition or hostility<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Still, Isaac did not quit. He went further and dug a third well<\/strong>. This time, no one quarreled<\/strong> over it. So he named it Rehoboth<\/strong>, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cNow the LORD has given us room<\/strong>, and we will flourish in the land.\u201d

[18]<\/strong> And Isaac dug again the wells of water that had been dug in the days of Abraham his father, which the Philistines had stopped after the death of Abraham. And he gave them the names that his father had given them.
\n[19]<\/strong> But when Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and found there a well of spring water,
\n[20]<\/strong> the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, \u201cThe water is ours.\u201d So he called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him.
\n[21]<\/strong> Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that also, so he called its name Sitnah.
\n[22]<\/strong> And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, saying, \u201cFor now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What Is God Saying Through This Story?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When you gave your life to Christ, Jesus Himself planted a well of living water<\/strong> inside of you. This well not only gives eternal life<\/strong>, but also refreshes, restores, and empowers your journey here on earth.<\/p>\n

“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.\u201d<\/strong>

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.\u201d<\/strong>

But the Enemy Has a Mission: To Block That Well<\/strong><\/h2>\n
