Luke 12:47b \u2013 \u201c\u2026To whom much is given, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will demand even more.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Gospel is a Debt
Every time we hear the Word of God, we are accountable before Him. The Bible reminds us that God\u2019s Word is alive and powerful:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cFor the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.\u201d \u2013 Hebrews 4:12<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This means that when God\u2019s Word enters our lives, it is expected to bear fruit\u2014first in our own transformation, and secondly, in influencing others through us.<\/p>\n

Yet, many hear the Word repeatedly without action. They treat it like ordinary news: listen today, forget tomorrow, continue with daily life as if nothing happened. Preaching, teachings, and sermons may pass by, but if no change occurs in the heart, it is as though nothing has been gained.<\/p>\n

God counts every Word that reaches our ears, because as He promises:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSo shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.\u201d \u2013 Isaiah 55:11<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

To Whom Much is Given, Much Will Be Required
God expects that what we receive in revelation, guidance, or spiritual gifts be shared. Holding back is like giving someone food while others starve. For instance:<\/p>\n

A mother trapped in idol worship might have been transformed had someone shared the truth of Jesus with her.<\/p>\n

A young man clinging to religion as his ticket to heaven might face eternal separation without someone to witness to him.<\/p>\n

Those struggling with despair or addiction could be saved by even a few words about Jesus.<\/p>\n

Yet if we neglect to act on what we hear daily, we are guilty of withholding the life-giving Word from others.<\/p>\n

Jesus warned about accountability:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWell done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.\u201d \u2013 Matthew 25:21<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Those who fail will hear:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe unfaithful servant\u2026throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.\u201d \u2013 Matthew 25:26\u201330<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We cannot afford to treat God\u2019s Word lightly. If we do not bear fruit when He looks, there will be no second chance.<\/p>\n

Daily Examination and Action
Paul reminds us that God works within us:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201c\u2026for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.\u201d \u2013 Philippians 2:13<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Every day, we must examine ourselves and take at least one step forward in obedience.<\/p>\n
