If you do, that is a good thing. But let me ask: What gives you that assurance?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is it your faith?
\nYour church denomination?
\nYour good deeds?
\nOr something else?<\/p>\n

If it is faith alone <\/strong>that you believe in Jesus and therefore assume that you will surely go with Him when He comes then understand this:
\nIt is possible to believe in Him, and yet not go with Him<\/strong> when He returns.<\/p>\n

If it is your denomination<\/strong> that gives you confidence, know that belonging to a certain church or religious group is not enough<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Even with the best denomination and the most respected church name, you may still miss the day of His return<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Is it your good deeds<\/strong> that assure you?
\nThat you don\u2019t steal, you don\u2019t curse, you help others, you\u2019re morally upright?<\/p>\n

If your assurance is based solely on good works<\/strong>, then you may still miss Him<\/strong> when He comes.<\/p>\n

So, what truly gives someone the sure guarantee<\/strong> that they will go with the Lord when He returns?<\/p>\n

Let us look for the answer directly from the words of the Lord Jesus Himself<\/strong>, the One who is coming again:<\/p>\n

John 3:1\u20133 (ESV)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
\nThis man came to Jesus by night and said to him, \u201cRabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.\u201d
\nJesus answered him, \u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.<\/strong>\u201d”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

So what is the true mark<\/strong> of someone who will see the Lord on that Day?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not denomination because Nicodemus belonged to one of the strictest, most respected sects of Judaism: the Pharisees<\/strong> (see Acts 26:5<\/strong>).
\nIt\u2019s not merely faith in God <\/strong>because Nicodemus already believed in God and acknowledged Jesus as being from God.<\/p>\n

Yet, Jesus told him:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou must be born again.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This means that faith alone<\/strong>, religious affiliation<\/strong>, and even good works<\/strong> are not sufficient.
\nWhat Jesus emphasizes is a spiritual transformation <\/strong>a complete rebirth<\/strong> in the Spirit.<\/p>\n

\n

What Does It Mean to Be Born Again?<\/h3>\n

Jesus explains further:<\/p>\n

John 3:5 (ESV)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit<\/strong>, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To be “born of water and Spirit” refers to:<\/p>\n
