For I have the <strong>desire to do what is good<\/strong>, but I <strong>cannot carry it out<\/strong>. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do this I keep on doing.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Are <strong>you<\/strong> one of those struggling under such a kind of bondage?<br \/>\nYou <strong>desire<\/strong> and long for certain things, but you find yourself <strong>not receiving<\/strong>, <strong>unable to act<\/strong>, or <strong>unable to achieve<\/strong> what you desire?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You want to serve God, but you find yourself unable.<\/li>\n<li>You desire to read the Word consistently, but you can\u2019t seem to manage it.<\/li>\n<li>You want to do good and live uprightly for your God, but you keep failing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019ve had <strong>many desires<\/strong>, but you <strong>haven\u2019t seen progress<\/strong> or clarity in how to achieve them, then maybe the <strong>way you&#8217;re desiring and seeking<\/strong> those things is <strong>flawed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Try This Way of Seeking The Way of Daniel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>Daniel 9:3-4 (ESV)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThen I turned my face to the Lord God, <strong>seeking Him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.<\/strong> I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, \u2018O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Did you see the <strong>principle Daniel used<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>He did not seek things through <strong>divination<\/strong>, or <strong>witchcraft<\/strong>, or <strong>manipulation<\/strong>, or <strong>bribery<\/strong>, or by trying to <strong>please people <\/strong>but through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prayer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Supplication<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Repentance (symbolized by sackcloth and ashes)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And <strong>as a result<\/strong>, Daniel <strong>received<\/strong> what he was seeking from the Lord!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>This is the same principle we must apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>If we want <strong>peace in our homes<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If we want <strong>peace in our marriages<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If we want <strong>peace at work<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If we want <strong>wisdom in our studies<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If we want <strong>divine protection and health<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If we want to be <strong>filled with the Holy Spirit<\/strong> \u2192 The principle is <strong>Prayer and Fasting<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Luke 11:13 (KJV)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIf ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: <strong>how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Even the Lord Jesus emphasized that <strong>some things cannot be achieved except by prayer and fasting<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cHowever, this kind does not go out except by <strong>prayer and fasting<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n(Matthew 17:21, NKJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>It is God who enables the desire and the doing<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>Philippians 2:13-14 (NIV)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cFor it is God who works in you <strong>to will<\/strong> and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This means: Even your <strong>desire to do good<\/strong> comes from God and so does the <strong>power to act<\/strong> on that desire. But for that divine enablement to be real in your life, you must align with God through <strong>prayer, fasting, and total dependence<\/strong> on Him.<\/p>\n<p>God does not just want you to <strong>want<\/strong> good things; He wants to <strong>enable you<\/strong> to <strong>do<\/strong> them.<\/p>\n<p>But there is a divine principle:<br \/>\n<strong>Desire must be aligned with divine seeking through prayer, fasting, and humility.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let us not seek shortcuts or worldly means to spiritual breakthroughs.
