Yet, there is a profound truth within it something hidden, which every believer needs to reflect on carefully. Take time to read the passage again, this time with a quiet heart and a seeking mind. Then, let us ask: <strong>Is divine intervention in our lives always a sign that we\u2019ve truly encountered Christ?<\/strong> Does receiving healing or success mean we\u2019ve seen His face?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s read it again together:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>John 9:1\u201341<\/strong> <em>(selected portions, ESV)<\/em><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><strong>1<\/strong> As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.<br \/>\n<strong>2<\/strong> And his disciples asked him, &#8220;Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?&#8221;<br \/>\n<strong>3<\/strong> Jesus answered, &#8220;It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him&#8230;<br \/>\n<strong>6<\/strong> Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man&#8217;s eyes with the mud<br \/>\n<strong>7<\/strong> and said to him, \u201cGo, wash in the pool of Siloam\u201d (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>1. <strong>Why did Jesus not heal him instantly?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Why did Jesus send him to wash in the Pool of Siloam rather than healing him on the spot? Could Jesus not have opened his eyes right then and there?<\/p>\n<p>Jesus chose to use <strong>the process <\/strong>involving obedience, movement, and faith. The pool is named <strong>Siloam<\/strong>, meaning <em>Sent<\/em>, symbolizing Christ Himself as the One sent by the Father (John 3:17).<\/p>\n<p>This teaches us that <strong>spiritual breakthroughs often require obedience<\/strong> before full revelation is received. God\u2019s work in us unfolds over time, not always instantly.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>2. <strong>Did the man really \u201csee\u201d Jesus after his healing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Physically, yes his eyes were opened. But did he truly see Christ? Did he recognize Him?<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, <strong>no<\/strong>. After receiving his sight, he didn\u2019t even know who Jesus was. He couldn\u2019t identify Him, didn\u2019t know His face or where He went. He simply returned home, resuming his normal life. It wasn&#8217;t until much later after interrogation, rejection, and isolation that he truly encountered Christ.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>The Cost of Confessing Christ<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When the man began <strong>publicly speaking of Jesus<\/strong>, he was <strong>questioned<\/strong>, <strong>challenged<\/strong>, and <strong>rejected<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Pharisees accused Jesus of breaking the Sabbath (John 9:16).<\/li>\n<li>They interrogated the healed man and called his miracle into question.<\/li>\n<li>His <strong>own parents distanced themselves<\/strong>, fearing excommunication (John 9:22).<\/li>\n<li>He was eventually <strong>cast out of the synagogue <\/strong>cut off from society and religious community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In that era, being &#8220;put out of the synagogue&#8221; was a severe punishment. It meant <strong>total rejection <\/strong>social, religious, and familial isolation. The Jewish culture was fully interwoven with religion; being removed from the synagogue meant losing identity, community, and respect.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>John 9:34<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cThey answered him, \u2018You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?\u2019 And they cast him out.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>It Was After Rejection That He Saw Jesus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Only after being cast out did Jesus find him again:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>John 9:35-38<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cJesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, \u2018Do you believe in the Son of Man?\u2019<br \/>\nHe answered, \u2018And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?\u2019<br \/>\nJesus said to him, \u2018You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.\u2019<br \/>\nHe said, \u2018Lord, I believe,\u2019 and he worshiped him.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He had received his physical sight earlier but only now does he <strong>see Christ spiritually<\/strong>, personally, intimately. And when he sees Him, he <strong>worships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Not All Who Receive from God Know Him<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Today, many say they&#8217;ve &#8220;seen God&#8221; simply because their prayers were answered: a job came through, a disease was healed, or a door was opened. But the question remains:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you truly met Christ?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Have you seen His face?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Receiving blessings from God is <strong>not the same<\/strong> as encountering the Person of Jesus. The man born blind didn\u2019t know Jesus when he was healed he only met Him <strong>after<\/strong> he was rejected by the world and remained faithful to the truth.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Fear of Rejection Silences Many<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Like his parents, many believe <strong>in secret<\/strong> but won\u2019t confess Christ <strong>in public <\/strong>fearing rejection.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>John 12:42-43 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cNevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Jesus Meets You Outside the Camp<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>True encounter with Christ often comes <strong>outside the camp<\/strong>, in the place of rejection, where the world and even religious institutions have cast you aside.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Hebrews 13:13 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cTherefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus is not always found within the structures of religion, denomination, or titles. He is often found <strong>outside<\/strong>, where the rejected, humble, and sincere seek Him.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>He Is the Rejected Cornerstone<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><strong>1 Peter 2:7 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cThe stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Christ is the Stone many religious builders rejected. But He is the true foundation. If you&#8217;re looking for Him among the proud, the powerful, or the popular you might miss Him.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>The Narrow Path Leads to the Face of Christ<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Luke 13:24 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cStrive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The way to Christ is narrow, difficult, and often lonely. It requires denial of self, taking up your cross, and being willing to be misunderstood or rejected.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Matthew 16:24 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cIf anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Are You Just Blessed or Truly Born Again?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Maybe you\u2019ve been to your own \u201cPool of Siloam\u201da church, a crusade, a prayer mountain, a prophet&#8217;s meeting and received healing or deliverance. But the real question is:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you met Jesus Himself? Have you seen His face?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can receive a miracle and still <strong>not know the Miracle Worker<\/strong>. The blind man received sight, but only when he stood boldly for Christ and endured rejection, did he finally encounter Jesus and say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<strong>Lord, I believe.<\/strong>\u201d <em>(John 9:38)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Revelation 3:20<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Revelation 3:20 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cBehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus desires <strong>fellowship<\/strong>, not just religious observance. But you must open the door even if it means rejection by the world.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re only looking for Christ in your blessings, in success, or in religion you may never truly see Him.
