Today\u2019s Focus: How Jesus Recognized Women During His Earthly Ministry<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As we examine the earthly ministry of Jesus, we discover that He addressed different women in unique ways\u00a0 each with divine intention and profound meaning.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, He called a woman “Daughter.”<\/strong>
\nOther times, He called her “Mother.”<\/strong>
\nAnd in some instances, simply “Woman.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

These aren\u2019t just casual or interchangeable terms. Each title carries theological and prophetic significance, directed at a specific identity or role. To understand this deeply enhances your Bible study and spiritual growth.<\/p>\n

\n

1) Today\u2019s Lesson “WOMAN”\u00a0 A Divine Acknowledgment of Gender<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When Jesus addressed someone as “Woman,” He was not referring to her status, age, or social class\u00a0 but to her God given gender<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To call someone \u201cwoman\u201d is to acknowledge something foundational and sacred: she is a bearer of the image of God in her femininity<\/strong>. This is not a lesser title; it is a call to purpose and identity.<\/p>\n

Let us consider a remarkable example from Scripture\u00a0 the woman in Luke 7, known throughout her city as a sinner. Yet Jesus addressed her as \u201cWoman,\u201d not by her past or her reputation.<\/p>\n

The Anointing Woman: Luke 7:37\u201348 (ESV)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Luke 7:37-38<\/strong>
\n\u201cAnd behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This woman, unnamed yet unforgettable, offered an extravagant and humble act of devotion. She never spoke a word\u00a0 but her actions became her prayer.<\/p>\n

Luke 7:44-47<\/strong>
\n\u201cThen turning toward the woman he said to Simon, \u2018Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
