Luke 17:26-30 (ESV):<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, as it was in the days of Lot\u2014they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus clearly links the moral and social behavior of humanity in the days of Noah and Lot to what will occur just before His second coming. These passages reveal patterns of sin that provoke God\u2019s judgment. There are four key activities<\/strong> mentioned, which were prevalent before God\u2019s judgment in those times\u2014and which will reappear shortly before Christ\u2019s return:<\/p>\n

  2. Marrying and Being Given in Marriage<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Buying and Selling<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Planting and Building<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Let\u2019s examine each of these, with theological insights and practical application.<\/p>\n

    1) Eating and Drinking<\/h3>\n

    Eating and drinking are natural and good when done with thanksgiving to God (1 Timothy 4:4-5). But in Noah\u2019s and Lot\u2019s days, these activities symbolized gluttony, indulgence, and moral corruption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
