In his message, he made several statements that stirred theological concern among many Bible-believing Christians. Here is a summary of some of the key points he made:<\/p>\n These statements stand in direct contradiction to core biblical teachings<\/strong>, particularly concerning the personal and saving relationship<\/strong> between Christ and the believer. Scripture emphasizes that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone<\/strong>, not through institutional affiliation.<\/p>\n The Apostle Paul clearly teaches that salvation is a personal experience<\/strong> grounded in faith, not in any human structure or system:<\/p>\n \u201cFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith \u2014 and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God \u2014 not by works, so that no one can boast.\u201d<\/strong> Jesus Himself affirmed that He<\/em> is the only way to God the Father \u2014 not the Church, not a denomination, and not a religious leader:<\/p>\n \u201cI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/strong> Nowhere in the New Testament does it say that a person must belong to a particular church denomination to be saved. In fact, many early believers had no formal church institutions \u2014 they met in homes (Acts 2:46), were often persecuted, and were recognized simply as followers of \u201cThe Way\u201d<\/em> (Acts 9:2).<\/p>\n Pope Francis\u2019s remarks resonate strongly with the prophetic warnings found in Revelation 17<\/strong>. The Apostle John describes a symbolic woman:<\/p>\n \u201cThe name written on her forehead was a mystery: \u2018Babylon the Great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.\u2019\u201d<\/strong> In biblical prophecy, a woman<\/em> often symbolizes a church<\/em> (see Jeremiah 6:2; 2 Corinthians 11:2). The woman in Revelation 17 is described as a spiritual prostitute<\/strong> \u2014 a church that has forsaken true doctrine<\/strong> and fornicated with the kings of the earth<\/strong> (Revelation 17:2). Her title, \u201cMother of Prostitutes,\u201d<\/em> suggests that she has given birth to other apostate churches<\/strong> \u2014 denominations and religious systems that have similarly compromised the truth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This \u201cmother church\u201d is widely understood by many Bible scholars and reformers throughout history to represent the Roman Catholic Church<\/strong>, and her \u201cdaughters\u201d represent various denominations that have adopted her traditions and practices over God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n Today, we are witnessing a global movement toward ecumenism<\/strong> \u2014 the idea of uniting all Christian denominations (and even other religions) under a single, inclusive religious system. This unity is being led by Rome and enthusiastically endorsed by Pope Francis, who has held interfaith gatherings with Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and even atheists.<\/p>\n But this unity comes at the cost of biblical truth<\/strong>. Rather than calling the world to repentance and faith in Christ, this movement seeks to erase doctrinal differences<\/strong> in favor of political and social harmony.<\/p>\n This is precisely what sets the stage for the rise of the Antichrist<\/strong> and the enforcement of the Mark of the Beast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.\u201d<\/strong> This \u201cmark\u201d represents allegiance to a system<\/strong> that rejects God\u2019s truth and demands conformity \u2014 possibly through religious registration<\/strong> or denominational affiliation<\/strong>. Many theologians believe that in the future, those who refuse to align with this global religious system will be excluded from economic participation \u2014 unable to buy, sell, work, or live freely.<\/p>\n While false religion demands outward conformity, God seals His true people inwardly<\/strong> \u2014 by giving them His Holy Spirit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cIf anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.\u201d<\/strong> \u201cFor those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.\u201d<\/strong> The New Covenant<\/strong> that God promised in Jeremiah 31 is fulfilled in Christ and applied by the Spirit \u2014 not by membership in any institution:<\/p>\n \u201cI will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people\u2026 they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.\u201d<\/strong> This clearly shows that each believer<\/strong> is meant to have a direct, personal relationship<\/strong> with God through Jesus Christ, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit \u2014 not through a church system or hierarchy.<\/p>\n Those who refuse to conform to the coming religious system will face persecution<\/strong>. They will be labeled as divisive, dangerous, or even terrorists<\/strong>, simply because they insist on following Christ alone. Jesus warned of such times:<\/p>\n \u201cYou will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.\u201d<\/strong> Some believers who miss the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16\u201317) will later refuse to take the mark and will endure the Great Tribulation \u2014 many of them becoming martyrs for the faith (Revelation 7:14; 20:4).<\/p>\n \u201cHaving a personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous and harmful.\u201d<\/strong> This statement embodies the spirit of the Antichrist<\/strong> (1 John 4:3) \u2014 which seeks to replace the intimate, living relationship God offers through Christ with cold institutionalism<\/strong> and false unity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In truth, it is not having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ<\/strong> that is truly dangerous and eternally destructive.<\/p>\n \u201cThen I will tell them plainly, \u2018I never knew you.
