John 1:14<\/em><\/p>\n Do you truly understand what it means when the Bible says:<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us\u201d<\/strong>? (John 1:14, ESV)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n This verse expresses one of the most profound mysteries in all of Christian theology \u2014 the Incarnation<\/strong>: God, who is Spirit (John 4:24), took on human nature and entered into our world in the person of Jesus Christ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Think about this: Now imagine that same person comes to visit you in person. This time, you still hear their words \u2014 but now they are coming from a visible body<\/strong>. You can look them in the eye, watch their expressions, and even touch them.<\/p>\n It\u2019s the same voice<\/strong>, the same words<\/strong>, but now you can see and touch<\/strong> the one who is speaking.<\/p>\n That\u2019s exactly what happened when the Word became flesh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In John 1:1\u20133<\/strong>, we read:<\/p>\n \u201cIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word (Greek: Logos)<\/strong> here refers to the eternal Son of God<\/strong> \u2014 divine, co-equal with the Father, and the agent of all creation (cf. Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 1:2-3).<\/p>\n Then in John 1:14<\/strong>, Scripture tells us:<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.\u201d (ESV)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n This means that God the Son<\/strong>, without ceasing to be God, took on full human nature<\/strong> (Philippians 2:6-8), being born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:35), and lived among us \u2014 not as a spirit or phantom, but in a real human body (Hebrews 2:14-17).<\/p>\n This is not just a theological idea \u2014 it is the foundation of the Christian faith<\/strong>. Without the incarnation, there would be no redemption<\/strong>. The Apostle Paul refers to this divine mystery in:<\/p>\n 1 Timothy 3:16<\/strong> \u2014 Paul is clearly referring to Christ<\/strong> \u2014 God manifested in human form<\/strong>, glorified, and preached among the nations.<\/p>\n The Apostle John reaffirms this mystery in his letter:<\/p>\n 1 John 1:1\u20132<\/strong> This was no vision or illusion. The apostles saw Jesus with their eyes and touched His body<\/strong> \u2014 even after His resurrection (Luke 24:39, John 20:27). Christian theology teaches that in the person of Jesus Christ, there is a hypostatic union<\/strong>:<\/p>\n Fully God<\/strong> (Colossians 2:9 \u2013 \u201cIn Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily\u201d)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Fully Man<\/strong> (Hebrews 2:17 \u2013 \u201cHe had to be made like His brothers in every respect\u201d)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n He is not half-God and half-man, but 100% God and 100% man \u2014 united in one Person, without confusion or separation.<\/p>\n Because only God<\/strong> could provide a perfect sacrifice for sin, and only a man<\/strong> could die in place of men.<\/p>\n \u201cFor there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.\u201d (1 Timothy 2:5, ESV)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Jesus \u2014 the Word made flesh \u2014 is the only bridge between sinful humanity and a holy God.<\/p>\n \u201cBehold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel\u201d (which means, God with us).<\/em> Jesus is not just a messenger from God. He is God<\/strong> \u2014 come to live among us, save us, and reveal the Father to us (John 14:9).<\/p>\n John 1:12 says:<\/p>\n \u201cBut to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n There is no other name under heaven<\/strong> by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). People will fail you. Even pastors and church leaders can fail you. His love is pure<\/strong>, faithful<\/strong>, and unconditional<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cCome to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 11:28)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n So why not put your trust in Jesus today<\/strong>? \u00a0<\/p>\n\n
