Today, we are in <strong>Chapter 20<\/strong>, one of the most profound and prophetic sections in Scripture.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>REVELATION 20:1\u20133\u00a0 The Binding of Satan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThen I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 20:1\u20133, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>After the <strong>Battle of Armageddon<\/strong> (Revelation 19), where Christ defeats the nations, we see here that Satan is not yet cast into the <strong>Lake of Fire<\/strong> like the <strong>Beast and the False Prophet<\/strong> (Rev. 19:20). Instead, Satan is <strong>bound for 1,000 years<\/strong> in the <strong>bottomless pit<\/strong> (Greek: <em>Abyssos<\/em>) a deep, dark, spiritual prison.<\/li>\n<li>This angel is likely one of God\u2019s warrior angels, entrusted with divine authority. The &#8220;key&#8221; and &#8220;chain&#8221; signify power to imprison spiritual beings.<\/li>\n<li>The purpose of the binding is <strong>to prevent Satan from deceiving the nations<\/strong> during Christ\u2019s 1,000 year reign. However, he will be released briefly afterward, for a final test of the nations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jesus holds all authority over life, death, and Hades (Revelation 1:18). The angel acts on Christ\u2019s authority when imprisoning Satan.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Luke 8:31<\/p>\n<p><em style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">&#8220;And they begged Him that He would not command them to go out into the abyss.&#8221;<\/em><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"> (demons recognize the Abyss as a place of torment)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">2 Peter 2:4<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>REVELATION 20:4\u20136 The First Resurrection and Reign with Christ<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God&#8230; They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.&#8221;<br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 20:4, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Two Groups are Seen Here:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1.The Saints Who Sit on Thrones:<\/strong><br \/>\nThese are the faithful believers (likely the raptured Church Christ\u2019s Bride) who will <strong>rule and reign<\/strong> with Christ during the Millennium.\u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u201cDo you not know that the saints will judge the world?\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>(1 Corinthians 6:2, NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.\u201d<em>(Matthew 19:28, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>2.The Martyrs of the Great Tribulation:<\/strong><br \/>\nThese are believers (both Jews and Gentiles) who <strong>refused the Mark of the Beast<\/strong> and were killed during the Tribulation. They are <strong>resurrected<\/strong> and given glorified bodies to also reign with Christ for 1,000 years.<\/p>\n<h3>This is the <strong>First Resurrection<\/strong> (v.5\u20136)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power&#8230;&#8221; <em>(Revelation 20:6, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <strong>first resurrection<\/strong> is <strong>for the righteous<\/strong>. It includes:<\/p>\n<p>Christ (the firstfruits)The raptured saints (1 Thess. 4:16\u201317)<\/p>\n<p>The Tribulation martyrs<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">The \u201csecond death\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"> refers to eternal separation from God in the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Lake of Fire<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">(Rev. 20:14). Those in the first resurrection are eternally secure.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM (1,000 Year Reign of Christ)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During this reign:<\/p>\n<p>Jesus will rule from <strong>Jerusalem<\/strong> (Isaiah 2:2\u20134)<\/p>\n<p>Saints will govern with Him (Luke 19:17\u201319)<\/p>\n<p>Peace will cover the earth, even among animals<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Isaiah 11:6\u20139 \u00a0<em>&#8220;The wolf shall dwell with the lamb&#8230; the lion shall eat straw like the ox&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lifespan will increase; sin will be rare but still possible<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Isaiah 65:20 <em>&#8220;The child shall die one hundred years old&#8230; the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>REVELATION 20:7\u201310\u00a0 The Final Rebellion: Gog and Magog<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNow when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations&#8230; Gog and Magog&#8230; to gather them together to battle&#8230; Fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 20:7\u20139, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>After 1,000 years of peace, <strong>Satan is released<\/strong>, and shockingly, <strong>many will still choose to rebel<\/strong> against Christ.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gog and Magog<\/strong> here are symbolic of the nations that align against God distinct from the Gog\/Magog invasion in Ezekiel 38\u201339.<\/li>\n<li>God ends the rebellion <strong>instantly<\/strong> with fire from heaven. Satan is then finally cast into the <strong>Lake of Fire<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd the devil&#8230; was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone&#8230; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 20:10, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>REVELATION 20:11\u201315\u00a0 The Great White Throne Judgment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it&#8230; the dead, small and great, standing before God&#8230; and books were opened&#8230;&#8221;<em>(Revelation 20:11\u201312, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Two Sets of Books:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u201cThe Books\u201d<\/strong> A record of every person\u2019s deeds, both good and evil (Ecclesiastes 12:14)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cThe Book of Life\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Contains the names of all who received eternal life through Jesus Christ<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The Second Death:<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.&#8221;<br \/>\n<em>(Revelation 20:15, NKJV)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>All who rejected Christ or lived unrighteously <strong>will be judged according to their deeds<\/strong>, and condemned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>Hebrews 9:27 \u00a0<em>\u201cIt is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Is Your Name in the Book of Life?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Everyone is writing a \u201cbook\u201d with their life\u00a0 your daily choices, words, and actions are being recorded. One day, that book will be opened.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cFor we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body&#8230;\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Make sure your life aligns with <strong>God\u2019s Book <\/strong>the Word of God. If your life doesn\u2019t reflect the truth of Scripture, your name will not be found in the Book of Life.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>HOW TO ENSURE YOUR NAME IS WRITTEN<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Repent of your sins (Acts 3:19)<\/li>\n<li>Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16)<\/li>\n<li>Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13\u201314)<\/li>\n<li>Live a life of holiness (Hebrews 12:14)<\/li>\n<li>Overcome through faith and obedience (Revelation 3:5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Are You Still Living in Sin?<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re still living in <strong>lust, drunkenness, fornication, gossip, vanity<\/strong>, or other ungodliness don&#8217;t deceive yourself. Without repentance and transformation, the <strong>Lake of Fire<\/strong> is your end (Revelation 21:8).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cToday, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.\u201d <em>(Hebrews 3:15)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When all these things are fulfilled Satan judged, sin eradicated, death defeated then begins <strong>eternity with God<\/strong>, in the <strong>New Heavens and the New Earth<\/strong>, which we&#8217;ll explore in <strong>Revelation Chapter 21<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Prayer<\/h3>\n<p>May the Holy Spirit convict every heart reading this.
