Shalom! Welcome as we study the Word of God together. Today we shall briefly learn about the Blood of Jesus Christ \u2014 the most precious blood ever shed. My prayer is that as we go through this message, your understanding of God\u2019s redemptive power through the blood of Jesus will deepen.<\/p>\n

In the book of Genesis, we read the story of Cain and Abel, the sons of Adam and Eve. Abel offered a pleasing sacrifice to God, while Cain\u2019s was rejected because of the state of his heart. Out of jealousy and anger, Cain killed his righteous brother.<\/p>\n

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.<\/em>
Then the Lord said to Cain, \u201cWhere is Abel your brother?\u201d He said, \u201cI do not know. Am I my brother\u2019s keeper?\u201d<\/em>
And He said, \u201cWhat have you done? The voice of your brother\u2019s blood cries out to Me from the ground.\u201d<\/em>
So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother\u2019s blood from your hand.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Notice something profound \u2014 God did not say \u201cthe voice of your brother\u2019s spirit,\u201d but \u201cthe voice of your brother\u2019s blood.\u201d This reveals that blood has a voice. Blood speaks \u2014 it testifies, it cries out for justice.<\/p>\n

Also, God said the blood cried out from the ground, not from heaven. This shows a mysterious connection between blood and the earth. The shedding of innocent blood defiles the land (see Numbers 35:33<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The voice of Abel\u2019s blood cried out for vengeance and judgment \u2014 and indeed, Cain was cursed and became a restless wanderer on the earth.<\/p>\n

Centuries later, the writer of Hebrews compares the blood of Abel to that of Jesus Christ:<\/p>\n

\u201cTo Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Abel\u2019s blood cried for justice; Jesus\u2019 blood cries for mercy.
Abel\u2019s blood brought a curse; Jesus\u2019 blood brings blessing and forgiveness.
Abel\u2019s blood accused; Jesus\u2019 blood intercedes.<\/p>\n

While Abel was righteous and blameless in his offering, Jesus was the sinless Lamb of God, totally innocent, yet crucified by sinful men.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yet at the cross, unlike Abel, Jesus did not cry for vengeance. Instead, He prayed:<\/p>\n

Luke 23:34
\u201cFather, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And before He gave up His spirit, He declared:<\/p>\n

John 19:30 \u2014 \u201cIt is finished.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That statement sealed our redemption forever. The voice of His blood continues to cry forgiveness, healing, reconciliation, and new life for all who believe.<\/p>\n

The blood of Abel brought a curse upon the land and made Cain a fugitive. But the blood of Jesus broke the curse and opened the way for reconciliation between God and humanity.<\/p>\n
