A brother once asked me, \u201cWhat benefit do you get from serving God?\u201d
\nI replied, \u201cThere are many.\u201d Then he said, \u201cI got saved long ago. I truly decided to follow God. But my situation became so hard that even my wife left me. I fasted, prayed, attended seminars and night vigils. I constantly asked God to remember me in my financial struggles. Yet, the more I prayed, the worse things became.\u201d<\/p>\n

As he spoke, I could sense that he had already lost hope and given up on his salvation.
\nFinally, he asked me, \u201cDon\u2019t you think there\u2019s something wrong with this God we serve?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

That statement shocked me. I calmly replied, \u201cAs for me, I\u2019ve seen nothing wrong in serving God. But I don\u2019t know what your relationship with Him looks like.\u201d Then I reminded him of David\u2019s words in the Bible:<\/p>\n

Psalm 37:25
\n\u201cI have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After I said that, he remained silent and walked away.<\/p>\n

\n

SOMETIMES IT SEEMS GOD IS SILENT<\/h3>\n

Dear brother or sister, there is something every true believer must understand. When David said those words, he did not mean that everything always went his way. There were many times he felt abandoned, as if God was silent or far away. Yet, in those moments, he strengthened himself in the Lord, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lord is my Shepherd; Your rod and Your staff comfort me.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He continued to praise and thank God, believing that even in suffering, God had not forsaken him.<\/p>\n

Listen to David\u2019s cry in the following verses:<\/p>\n

Psalm 13:1\u20136
\n\u201cHow long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
\nHow long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
\nConsider and hear me, O Lord my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
\nlest my enemy say, \u2018I have prevailed against him\u2019; lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
\nBut I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
\nI will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And again:<\/p>\n

Psalm 42:9\u201310
\n\u201cI will say to God my Rock, \u2018Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?\u2019
\nAs with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, \u2018Where is your God?\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

EVEN IN TROUBLE, GOD IS STILL PRESENT<\/h3>\n

There were times when David prayed and saw no answers.
\nHe remembered how once he struck down Goliath and all the Philistines feared him \u2014 yet later he had to seek refuge among those same Philistines, his former enemies.<\/p>\n

Imagine! The same man who once led Israel\u2019s victories was forced to hide among those who wanted him dead, just to find rest.
\nSome might have thought God had abandoned him completely.<\/p>\n

But David held on to God\u2019s promises. He kept worshiping, praying, and giving thanks, until the appointed time came when God restored and exalted him \u2014 making him king over all Israel.<\/p>\n

His journey shows that God\u2019s blessings do not always come instantly. Yet, in His time, He fulfills every promise.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why David later testified:<\/p>\n

Psalm 66:19\u201320
\n\u201cBut certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
\nBlessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

KEEP PRAYING AND DO NOT LOSE HEART<\/h3>\n

Our Lord Jesus Christ also taught us to pray continually and never lose hope.<\/p>\n

Luke 18:1\u20138
\n\u201cThen He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
\nsaying: \u2018There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
\nNow there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, \u201cGet justice for me from my adversary.\u201d
\nAnd he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, \u201cThough I do not fear God nor regard man,
\nyet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.\u201d\u2019
\nThen the Lord said, \u2018Hear what the unjust judge said.
\nAnd shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
\nI tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These words clearly teach us to pray without giving up, just as David and Jesus Himself did.
\nEven if answers delay, God will respond in His perfect time, for He is patient and merciful toward His children.<\/p>\n

\n

WAIT FOR YOUR SEASON<\/h3>\n

So, beloved, if you are following Christ with all your heart, do not be discouraged when you see no signs of breakthrough yet.
\nYour season will surely come. You will one day declare like David:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Keep showing zeal and persistence in seeking Him.
\nDo not focus on your current situation \u2014 focus on your faithfulness and holiness.<\/p>\n

For as the prophet Hosea wrote:<\/p>\n

Hosea 6:3
\n\u201cThen shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just as the rains come in their season, refreshing the dry land, God will come to you \u2014 to refresh, renew, and restore everything in your life.<\/p>\n

\n

CONCLUSION<\/h3>\n

Therefore, continue to know the Lord.
\nKeep walking faithfully even when things seem silent or hard.
\nYour time of visitation \u2014 your \u201crain of blessing\u201d \u2014 will come.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor we walk by faith, not by sight.\u201d \u2014 2 Corinthians 5:7<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

May the Lord bless you and strengthen your heart to keep trusting in Him until your season of refreshing arrives.<\/p>\n
