\u201cYet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, \u2018The Lord rebuke you!\u2019\u201d<\/em>
<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
\n1. The Enemy\u2019s Hatred Extends Beyond Life<\/strong><\/h3>\n
The Bible reveals that Satan\u2019s opposition toward God\u2019s people does not end with physical death. Many assume that once a person dies, their struggles with the devil are over. But the Scriptures show otherwise.<\/p>\n
After Moses\u2014the servant of God\u2014fulfilled his divine mission, he died in Moab. Yet Scripture tells us that God Himself buried him<\/strong> in a secret place that no one knows to this day:<\/p>\n
\nDeuteronomy 34:5\u20136 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cSo Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord. And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.\u201d<\/em>
<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\nOne would think that once Moses died, the matter was finished. But Jude 1:9 reveals that Michael the archangel<\/em> contended with the devil over the body of Moses<\/strong>. Imagine that! Satan had the audacity to claim even the lifeless body of a man who had walked faithfully with God.<\/p>\n
This teaches us that Satan\u2019s hostility toward humanity is not limited to our souls\u2014he wants complete possession of anything that bears God\u2019s image or glory, even the body that once served God\u2019s purposes.<\/p>\n
\n2. Why Did Satan Want Moses\u2019 Body?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
The Bible doesn\u2019t give explicit details, but from the pattern of Scripture, we can understand his motives. Throughout history, Satan has used idolatry<\/strong> to draw people away from God. He likely desired to use Moses\u2019 body or his burial site as an object of worship<\/strong>\u2014knowing how easily Israel had fallen into idolatry before (Exodus 32:1\u20136).<\/p>\n
Had the devil succeeded, the Israelites might have turned Moses\u2019 tomb into a shrine, venerating his remains instead of worshiping the living God. Thus, God\u2019s wisdom was seen in keeping Moses\u2019 burial a mystery.<\/p>\n
Satan\u2019s request for the body also fits his character as \u201cthe accuser\u201d<\/em> (Revelation 12:10). He may have sought to bring up Moses\u2019 past failings\u2014like striking the rock in anger (Numbers 20:10\u201312)\u2014to argue that Moses did not deserve a burial of honor. But Michael, knowing that divine judgment belongs only to God, rebuked the devil by saying, \u201cThe Lord rebuke you!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
This reminds us that even angels depend entirely on God\u2019s authority<\/strong> to overcome the accuser. Spiritual battles are not won by reasoning or emotion, but by invoking the divine authority of the Lord.<\/p>\n
\n3. The Theology of the Body: God\u2019s Property, Not Satan\u2019s<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Why does Satan still desire the body of the righteous? Because even our bodies belong to God<\/strong>. Scripture teaches that our bodies are \u201cthe temple of the Holy Spirit\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 6:19\u201320). They are sacred instruments designed for God\u2019s glory.<\/p>\n
At the resurrection, God will raise these very bodies in glory (Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 15:42\u201344). Satan knows that our physical resurrection will be the final proof of his defeat. That\u2019s why he tries to corrupt, destroy, or desecrate the human body even in death\u2014through witchcraft, necromancy, or false worship.<\/p>\n
In contrast, the believer\u2019s body\u2014though it may return to dust\u2014remains under divine ownership. As Scripture says:<\/p>\n
\nPsalm 116:15 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cPrecious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.\u201d<\/em> \u2014<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The enemy cannot lay lasting claim to what belongs to God.<\/p>\n
\n4. The Accuser Before God\u2019s Throne<\/strong><\/h3>\n
The Hebrew word \u201cSatan\u201d<\/em> means \u201caccuser\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cadversary.\u201d<\/strong> His mission has always been to accuse believers before God, as he did with Job:<\/p>\n
\nJob 1:9,11 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cThen Satan answered the Lord and said, \u2018Does Job fear God for nothing? \u2026 Stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!\u2019\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
He does the same today. Whenever you deliberately sin, Satan uses that as evidence against you before God\u2019s throne. He claims legal right to afflict, oppress, or destroy, citing your own actions as proof. If there is no repentance and no covering under the blood of Jesus, you stand spiritually exposed.<\/p>\n
But when a believer confesses and forsakes sin, the blood of Jesus Christ silences every accusation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
\n1 John 2:1 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cIf anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Through the atoning work of Christ, every claim Satan has against us is nullified.<\/p>\n
\n5. Why We Must Belong Fully to Christ<\/strong><\/h3>\n
If Satan contended for Moses\u2019 body\u2014a man who walked with God for decades\u2014how much more does he contend for the unsaved or the lukewarm? Without Jesus, you have no defense. Even your possessions, family, and reputation become open targets for the enemy\u2019s schemes.<\/p>\n
Jesus declared:<\/p>\n
\n\u2014 Matthew 12:30 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cHe who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
There is no neutral ground in spiritual warfare. You either belong to Christ or to the world\u2014and the world lies under the sway of the evil one (1 John 5:19).<\/p>\n
Therefore, if you live outside of Christ, the devil can easily lay claim to your life and even your death. This is why some graves are defiled through witchcraft and demonic rituals\u2014because the enemy claims legal rights over those who died without Christ. God, being perfectly just, cannot deny Satan\u2019s accusations when sin remains unrepented.<\/p>\n
\n6. The Believer\u2019s Protection in Christ<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Jesus prayed for His followers, saying:<\/p>\n
\nJohn 17:15 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cI do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Those who belong to Christ are sealed with the Holy Spirit<\/strong> (Ephesians 1:13\u201314). The Spirit acts as both a mark of ownership and a shield of protection against the enemy\u2019s accusations.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s why Paul wrote:<\/p>\n
\nPhilippians 4:7 (NKJV)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The word \u201cguard\u201d<\/em> here means \u201cto garrison\u201d<\/em> \u2014 to surround with divine defense. The believer who lives in obedience and repentance is spiritually guarded day and night.<\/p>\n
\n7. A Call to Repentance and Readiness<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Beloved, time is running short. The signs of the Lord\u2019s return are being fulfilled rapidly. Satan knows his time is limited (Revelation 12:12), and that is why he works with such fury and deception.<\/p>\n
Now is the time to surrender completely to Jesus Christ. Repent sincerely of every sin. Be baptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), for this name carries the authority of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).<\/p>\n
When you receive the Holy Spirit, He will strengthen, guide, and protect you until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).<\/p>\n
Let Jesus be your refuge and defense against the accuser. Without Him, you stand condemned. But with Him, you stand justified, protected, and destined for eternal life.<\/p>\n
\nRomans 8:1 (NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Satan values even your dead body, but God values your eternal soul far more. The devil seeks to claim, corrupt, and destroy what God created in His image \u2014 but Jesus came to redeem and restore it.<\/p>\n
So, choose today whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Yield your life fully to Christ, that both your life and your death may belong to Him.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord\u2019s.\u201d<\/em> \u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
