\u201c<\/strong>Take away from Me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your harps.\u201d
\n\u2014 Amos 5:23<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

DOES GOD DISLIKE OUR SONGS?<\/h2>\n

The answer is No! Our God delights in songs of praise. The Bible says:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.\u201d
\n\u2014 Psalm 22:3<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, if God delights in praise, why does He say, \u201cTake away from Me the noise of your songs\u201d?<\/em>
\nIt is because not all songs are pleasing to Him. There are songs that, though they sound beautiful to human ears, are mere noise before God.<\/p>\n

Let us see the types of songs that become noise<\/em> to the Lord.<\/p>\n

\n

1. SONGS OF HYPOCRISY<\/h2>\n

These are songs sung loudly and passionately, yet the life of the singer does not reflect what they sing. Their speech, dressing, behavior, and secret life contradict the words of the song.<\/p>\n

When such a person stands before God to sing songs of worship\u2014whether the song is their own or someone else\u2019s\u2014it becomes noise before the Lord.
\nSuch singing is sin, because God looks beyond the voice\u2014He looks at the heart and the life behind the song.<\/p>\n

\n

2. SONGS WITH WORLDLY BEATS<\/h2>\n

There are songs that sound so similar to those of the world that, when someone hears them, they immediately associate them with a worldly tune they once heard elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Songs of that kind are noise and even an abomination before God. Examples include songs that use beats from reggae, rap, pop, taarab, or other secular styles.<\/p>\n

The Scripture calls such music \u201csongs of foolishness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of music, like David.\u201d
\n\u2014 Amos 6:5<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As believers, we should never use worldly rhythms to sing to our holy God.<\/p>\n

\n

3. SONGS THAT INVOLVE WORLDLY ARTISTS<\/h2>\n

Worldly artists are those who sing about and glorify the things of this present world\u2014and the world lies under the influence of Satan.<\/p>\n

When someone joins such artists, who are used to praising the world or the devil, and gives them lyrics to sing for God, the result is noise and defilement before the Lord.<\/p>\n

It does not matter how beautiful the song sounds, how inspiring the lyrics are, or how often God\u2019s name is mentioned \u2014 if the singers themselves are not walking in the Spirit, that song does not bear fruit before God.<\/p>\n

\n

TRUE SONGS THAT PLEASE GOD<\/h2>\n

Songs that glorify God are those that carry the testimony of the Word\u2014from the singer\u2019s own life, to the lyrics, and even the melody.
\nWhen such songs are sung, they exalt God and bless those who hear them.<\/p>\n

\n

A PRAYER<\/h2>\n

May the Lord help us to offer Him songs that are pure, holy, and pleasing before His throne.
\nMay our worship rise as a sweet aroma before Him \u2014 not as noise, but as true praise from a sanctified heart.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p>\n
