{"id":68305,"date":"2019-12-26T23:34:09","date_gmt":"2019-12-26T20:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/?p=68305"},"modified":"2026-03-16T15:01:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T12:01:29","slug":"not-a-single-person-will-taste-my-feast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wingulamashahidi.org\/en\/2019\/12\/26\/not-a-single-person-will-taste-my-feast\/","title":{"rendered":"NOT A SINGLE PERSON WILL TASTE MY FEAST"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"><strong>\u201cFor<\/strong> I <strong>tell<\/strong> you, none of those who were invited will taste my banquet.\u201d-<\/span><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">\u00a0Luke 14:24 (NIV)<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When we read Luke 14:16\u201324, Jesus tells a parable about a man who prepared a great banquet. On the day of the feast, he sent his servant to invite those who had been called. But their responses were disappointing. Instead of coming, each gave an excuse:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One said, \u201cI have bought a field, and I must go and see it; please excuse me.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Another said, \u201cI have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them; please excuse me.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Another said, \u201cI just got married, so I cannot come.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The master of the house was very angry\u2014not because they had plans, but because they deliberately ignored his invitation. Notice carefully: they did not refuse at the first invitation before the feast began. Instead, they waited until the day when everything was ready, making excuses at the very moment they were supposed to celebrate. This shows they had no intention of attending from the start; they simply pretended emergencies had arisen.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the parable, Jesus emphasizes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Luke 14:24<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cFor I tell you, none of those who were invited will taste my banquet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Why repeat it? Why stress that none of those invited will taste the feast? Because refusing God\u2019s invitation has eternal consequences. If you decline and ignore the call, even warnings will come too late.<\/p>\n<p>To illustrate, consider this story:<\/p>\n<p>A friend of mine joined military training after completing school, hoping for a job afterward. Unfortunately, recruitment never came, and training ended. Later, an opportunity arose to volunteer for a major project\u2014building a wall around a mine. It was unpaid, purely voluntary. Most refused, thinking it a waste of time. A few, including my friend, accepted and worked hard under difficult conditions. When finished, they received certificates and, eventually, were offered official positions in recognition of their efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Those who refused initially regretted it. They tried bribery, connections, and extra effort\u2014but it was too late. They had missed the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>This mirrors the feast of the Lamb today. Millions are invited to eternal life, but very few respond. Many make excuses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cSalvation is pointless.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt will make me poor.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhat I have now is better than anything I would gain there.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI cannot give up my sinful business yet.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI\u2019ve tried following God, and I see no benefit.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these are reasons\u2014and sometimes deeply serious ones\u2014but one day, the truth will be revealed. Those who rejected God\u2019s invitation will wish they had accepted\u2014but it will be too late.<\/p>\n<p>Those invited initially ignored the feast, thinking they would have to give, not realizing the host intended to bless them. How would you feel if you rejected a wedding thinking you had to give gifts, only to discover you were the one receiving them? This is what awaits those who ignore God\u2019s call.<\/p>\n<p>When the saints enter heaven, those who refused the invitation today will see God\u2019s prepared glory and rejoice with what they missed\u2014but they themselves will have nothing. They will witness beauty, joy, and rewards they never imagined, while they remain outside, regretting their refusal.<\/p>\n<p>You may try to enter later, but it will be impossible. This is God\u2019s Word:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Luke 14:24<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cFor I tell you, none of those who were invited will taste my banquet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Beloved, the opportunity is near. Life is fleeting, and eternity is real. If you keep chasing the empty promises of this world, you will lose your soul.
