Praise be to the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the previous chapters (1\u20136)<\/em>, we saw narratives largely describing the experiences of the saints, which focused more on historical events than prophetic visions. However, from Chapter 7 onward<\/strong>, Daniel is shown visions concerning events that will take place in the end times. As we read:<\/p>\n

Daniel 7:1-8 (ESV)<\/strong>:
\n“In the first year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matters.”<\/em>
\n“2 Daniel declared, ‘I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.'”<\/em>
\n“3 And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.'”<\/em>
\n“4 The first was like a lion and had eagle\u2019s wings. I watched until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a human mind was given to it.'”<\/em>
\n“5 And behold, another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh.'”<\/em>
\n“6 After this I looked, and behold, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back. The beast had four heads, and dominion was given to it.'”<\/em>
\n“7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and strong exceedingly, with large iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces and stamped the remainder with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.'”<\/em>
\n“8 I considered the horns, and behold, another horn came up among them, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up. And behold, eyes like the eyes of a man were in it, and a mouth speaking great things.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Historical and Theological Interpretation<\/h3>\n

When we reflect on Chapter 2<\/strong>, Nebuchadnezzar saw the statue representing four successive kingdoms<\/strong> that would rule the world until the Most High (Jesus Christ)<\/strong> takes over all earthly dominions. Daniel gave an interpretation:<\/p>\n
