BEWARE OF SOCIAL MEDIA — IT’S A DEEP PIT

BEWARE OF SOCIAL MEDIA — IT’S A DEEP PIT

“For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.”
— Ephesians 5:12 (ESV)

There was a time when identifying someone living in sin was relatively easy—you could simply observe their behavior or appearance. Back then, most forms of evil were committed openly and in specific places: to find prostitutes or people walking naked, you had to go to casinos, nightclubs, or brothels.

But today, all of that wickedness is just a click away, accessible for free via smartphones and the internet. The secret sins being committed in our age are far more grievous than those of the past. A person can virtually visit dozens of brothels in a single day—through their phone.

You may look righteous outwardly—perhaps you don’t drink, don’t go to clubs, don’t fornicate. Maybe you’re even baptized and call yourself a Christian. But secretly, on your phone, you have downloaded and regularly watch pornography. Let me tell you clearly: the Bible says even these hidden things will be brought into judgment.

“For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”
— Ecclesiastes 12:14 (NIV)

One Sin Can Condemn You

Don’t be deceived into thinking, “I’ve overcome everything else—it’s just this one thing I struggle with. Surely God will understand.”
The Bible warns us:

“For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”
— James 2:10 (NIV)

Your daily routine may include browsing indecent content—pornographic videos, sensual pictures, or immoral memes. The Bible says that one of the six things God hates is:

“…feet that are swift in running to mischief.”
— Proverbs 6:18 (KJV)

You don’t realize how deeply you are offending God. Instead of using your time online to seek His Word, you waste it on music, entertainment, and content that glorifies sexual sin and rebellion against God.

Lovers of Pleasure More Than Lovers of God

The Bible predicted that in the last days, people (including Christians) would fall into this trap:

“Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
— 2 Timothy 3:4–5 (NIV)

If your phone is what’s causing you to fall, it’s better to throw it away than to end up a slave to Satan and ultimately in hell. Jesus said:

“If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”
— Matthew 5:30 (NIV)

There are people in hell today, tormented in fire, who wish they could come back and warn you to stop watching pornography and engaging in secret sin. But it’s too late for them.

Most Porn Actors Are Satanic Agents

What many don’t realize is that almost 100% of people featured in pornography are spiritual agents of hell, executing demonic assignments. They’re instructed by the devil himself on how to behave in these films. What you’re watching isn’t just “entertainment”—it’s a trap, spiritually laced with demonic power.

When you watch, even briefly, spirits far more powerful than those that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah are released upon your life. They fuel unnatural desires, perversion, shameful lusts, and mental bondage. These are the same spirits behind:

  • Homosexuality and lesbianism

  • Bestiality (sex with animals)

  • Incest (sex with family members)

  • Masturbation and sexual addiction

All of these are spirits of death, and their end is eternal damnation.

You Cannot Overcome Without Christ

You cannot defeat these forces while being separated from Christ. But if you truly repent, make a firm decision to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and break off all ties with sin, then Jesus will give you power from on high to overcome.

Many struggle because their hearts are not fully surrendered. They say, “If I follow Jesus, I’ll have to give up alcohol, worldly music, sex, clubbing…” They still desire sin even while claiming to follow Christ.

If that’s your condition, even if you pray and say, “Lord, I surrender,” but in your heart still love the world, you won’t receive power to overcome. But the moment you say, “From today, goodbye world! I choose Jesus with all my heart, mind, and strength,” — then God will change your life instantly.

We were once where you are now—but Jesus quenched our thirst for alcohol, pornography, smoking, lust, masturbation, and same-sex attraction. He can do the same for you. But you must say with your whole heart:

“From this day on, I follow Jesus Christ!”

Delete every immoral video, picture, and song from your phone, laptop, flash drive—anywhere. Then distance yourself from fornicators and corrupt influences.

God Will Not Give a Command You Can’t Obey

One thing many don’t understand is this:

God will never give us a command that is impossible to obey.
He wouldn’t say “Do not commit adultery” if He knew it was impossible for a human being to live pure. There is a way to live without sexual sin—and that way is found in Jesus Christ.

When you surrender, He doesn’t leave you alone—He gives you supernatural grace to stay clean.

Ready to Surrender? Pray This Prayer of Repentance:

If you want to give your life to Jesus, kneel down right now and take a moment to speak with God sincerely. Don’t hide anything from Him. Confess your sins, especially the ones you’ve done in secret. Tell Him:

  • You are done with worldly living

  • You want to follow Christ fully

  • You need His forgiveness and grace

Then delete all sinful media from your devices. Don’t wait. Obedience starts now.

Next Steps After Repentance:

  1. Find a true church that teaches holiness and baptizes in the name of Jesus Christ by full immersion, as per:

“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
— Acts 2:38 (KJV)

  1. Receive the Holy Spirit — God will freely give you His Spirit to guide and strengthen you.

  2. Stay in fellowship — Begin attending church regularly so God can continue working in your life.

“Not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
— Hebrews 10:25 (ESV)
