Shalom People of God let us study the Bible… God’s Word tells us in the book of …
Ecclesiastes 7:16 “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
What does it mean?
There are a few questions we can ask ourselves… .Why does it say that? .. Why is it wrong to be overly righteous… Why is it better to be overly righteous than to be wicked or to be a little righteous ?
It is true that if we read that verse in that sense we may be confused and see if the Bible confuses us to see that one part exhorts us to be righteous and here it tells us not to be overly righteous…. And this is none other than God, who created the heavens and the earth, who are revealed in JESUS CHRIST (Hebrews 1: 1-2, 2 Corinthians 5:19).
He cannot deceive us, Try to imagine since the creation of the sun. After all, we are the ones who always look to the sun to fix our seasons, and it is not the sun that relies on us… other gods made of sand and wheat, and limestone and pieces of wood that can be wrong but not our God Jehovah we worship through Jesus Christ to him There are no shortcomings.
When the Bible said we should not be overly it means..
“We should not be too self-righteous!”
Aperson that count for himself righteous he became proud and ignore others and see himself as a perfect than others.
Jesus saw Pharisees and Sadducees that are very self-righteous.
Luke 18:9 “And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 18:9 “And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Do you see? … Even the purity and holiness we have should not exceed the limits of self-righteousness!
Likewise if we have godly wisdom then we should not consider ourselves so wise of the Word of God that no one like us, and no one can add anything to us… if we do so we will be overly wise! .. and so we will destroy ourselves.
Ecclesiastes 7:16 “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself”
The Pharisees and Sadducees destroyed themselves with their own excess of righteousness and thought they knew the Scriptures better than anyone else. At the end they found themselves not believing in Jesus and they end up resist and later they killed him.
Likewise you are a Pastor, or a Prophet or a Preacher or a Teacher or You have the Word of Wisdom and Knowledge, or you have the gift of healing, or the Faith or the miracles or you are a Believer who has a special Grace that God has bestowed upon you that may distinguish you from others in some way or wherever you are… Do not forget this word… “DO NOT BE RIGHTEOUS OVER MUCH”. Every day see yourself as nothing in the sight of God..it is only by the Grace of God you are as you are and not power .
Your right should not exceed the limits and see yourself you deserve to be as you are now, no one deserves it , we have been chosen by Grace …so no need of boasting ourselves because it’s by God’s grace.
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
If you are not saved yet! So the rapture is about to happen the wrath of the Lord will be poured out on the earth and those who resist the son of God Jesus Christ they will be destroyed as it is written in Revelation 16.
The rapture is near when the saints (that is, all those who have accepted Jesus Christ and lived holy lives) will be caught up and go to heaven for the Lord to turn the wrath away. Where will you be? .. if today you are still rejecting Christ? If you still drink alcohol ,applying lipstick, wig wearer, adulterer, looking phonographic, charting unnecessary things (dirty), wearing half naked clothes, wearing trousers? .. Where will you be that day?
Today does not pass you by before you turn around, the bible says the hour of salvation is now. For that Repentance begin today to carry your cross and follow Christ.
Delete today all the secular music on your phone and all the dirty pictures as well as the numbers of the men / women you were chatting unnecessary things with. Also burn half naked clothes and cosmetics..stay as you are in your reality. And all the other ungodly things you were doing.
If you have done that … then you will have shown Christ that you have truly decided to follow Him in your actions. As it is written in
John 6:37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out”.
So He will be with you and you will feel a wonderful Peace that you have never heard before.
And after you have turned to Jesus in such a practical way. it is that of the baptism with many waters (John 3:23) and of the Name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). And the Holy Spirit in you will help you to discern good and evil afterwards and so on. He will guide you until you reach perfection and above all he will enable you to overcome all the sins and temptations of this world, He will take care of it all.
If you do so sincerely you will be born again..and be among the chosen ones whom the Lord loves. And if the rapture pass today you will be among the chosen one to witness the feast of the Lamb which Christ had gone to prepare for us for two thousand years now.
Maran atha.
