I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome to learn the glorious words of life, as we have seen them today.
Christians are divided into three main groups, which are likened to fruit trees.
And the fruit trees are of three kinds;
1) Trees that bear real fruits
2) Trees that bear no fruits
3) Trees that bear wild fruits.
Starting with Trees that produce real Fruits.
These are the trees that the Lord Jesus spoke of in the parable of the sower, saying that the seed sown in fine soil, some yielded 30 and some 60 and some 100 (Matthew 13: 8).
He said that they were Christians who, withstanding all the temptations of the devil, persevered and were able to bear fruit for God.
Luke 8:15 “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience”.
What did they endure?
They endured the hardships and tribulations the devil brought upon them from their Christianity, they were able to keep the Word of God in their hearts, by not allowing the distractions of this life to interfere with them, to the point of disregarding the Word, and this group is very small. And Christ has promised to weed it, and cleanse it so that it will continue to bear more fruit. (John 15:2)
2) Trees that do not bear any fruits.
The parable of these trees, is the one that the Lord Jesus gave example of this parable;
Luke 13:6 “He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
These are Christians, who, once saved, are relaxed, thinking that salvation is only a verbal confession and believing, then, and after that you go on with your own affairs.
They do not want to engage in spiritual pursuits after believing and being baptized, although God daily feeds them by teaching them and preaching His ways, but they do not show any change, They are neither evil nor good. But all the while, listening to God’s Word and receiving it, the group is very large.
Christ has promised not to deal with it for too long, it will come a time when it will be cut off, and when you are cut off, your story ends there, you are spiritually dead, no matter what you say I was saved long time ago.
The Lord Jesus expects, when we are saved, to show us the works that work for our salvation, from that time on, to be beggars, fasting, to share with others the good news of salvation, to contribute to our income the work of God to move forward, etc. But we are only God’s receivers, but we do not give up with him, let us know that our journey will not be long.
3) Wild fruit-bearing trees;
An example of these trees, is this one that God spoke of in Isaiah chapter 5.
Isaiah 5: 1 “Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill. 2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. 3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. 4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? 5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down: 6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. 7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
This group is the worst, because, it is the group that bears the fruit of the other side,. These are Christians who, once saved, once they have been in the church for a long time, the things they show by their actions are the exact opposite of what Christianity should be. cheater etc and yet he says I am saved, I have been baptized, I have received the Holy Spirit, that is, in short what the worldly people do and he does, likewise, there is no difference.
This group is also very large and God has promised to remove it from its nursery (Killing).
Knowing that it is your responsibility as a Christian to examine yourself as to which group you are falling into, and what the consequences will be in the future.
Remember your in the period he has set you on earth he will come to spy. If you have been in salvation for many years and do not see anything your doing that is pleasing to God , or helping his gospel to move forward, ask yourself what are you doing? Is it cut or weeded. The answer you have, the answer I have.
So repent and turn around, receive Christ literally, and show diligence in reading his word, praying and worshipping him, then you will find the strength to bear fruits for him.
God bless you.
